How you feel when playing guitar depends on the situation. Perhaps you are doing a cover of a song from a band you are really into... I don't believe you would feel the same playing the song from someone else as you would actually listening to their song. BUT, let's say you are composing your own song... that has everything to do with how you feel when playing your guitar... it's coming from you, your spirit, your soul... and then you hope the song you wrote/composed connects to others the same way.

As for writing lyrics... you can write about so many things... something personal that has happened in your life... someone you met... or even a photograph. How did these type of things make you feel?

Good luck to you and your journey with music!

i think feeling in your playing is really important.... theres playing a note and just sliding up two frets to another note, or theres playing the note and bending it until you get it to that spot... sounds weird, but subtle differences in playing can greatyly effect the outcome i think... as for writing songs, you have to feel for what you're writing about... many people just write generealized music that appeals to the public, but then playing it doesnt mean much to them.... if you write something that caused you to feel great emotion, the experience carries over to the song and the performance of the song leading to an overall more enhanced experience in my opinion
