really depends on what you want, Bells and whistles or Tone???

Any of the above will get you a great way to make loud headbanger sounds.

Pro jr. Blues jr. = Pure tube tone.

The G-dec series is a nice alternative, you can go sky high gain and effects and it does give some decent clean tones too.

Epiphone has the Valve Junior half-stack for $250... 5W tube head with 70W speaker.

They've just introduced the Valve Senior, also... I believe it's $360. It's not available for a few weeks, though.

They're fine out of the box, but it doesn't stop people from modifying them... there are entire websites devoted to it.

Your options for a Valve right now are:

Valve Junior combo ($50 less at Sweetwater than at MF or M123)
http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ValveJr/

Valve Junior half-stack ($250)
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Epiphone-Valve-Jr-HalfStack?sku=481475

Valve Junior head ($130 - $20 less than MF)
http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ValveJrHD/

Valve Junior Hot Rod head ($220)
http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ValveJrHRHD/

Valve Senior head ($300)
http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ValveSrHD/

Valve Senior combo ($360)
http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ValveSr/

The Hot Rod Junior and the Seniors aren't available yet, and no one has played with them. All we know is what's written on the product page, and a picture that Epiphone had on their news page... which is now missing.
