Anybody catch the 1st two shows, if so what are your thoughts about the show/idea?
Its on MTV classic Friday's 8pm central.

I think its an interesting concept, evolving with each iteration. Seems kinda unplanned, which is cool to me.
Not sure I really understand the shows intent/purpose with the judges. I guess they are sitting in to mold/mentor/manage. But for whom are they representing for a label, producer, studio? They made a couple good adjustments in tonight's show with the arrangements. Lots of talented folks in the bands.

I guess I thought maybe more had seen the show and I could have provided a little more info.

So the 1st show was an audition of musicians/singers/songwriters of a typical modern band. Each person auditioned his/her position w/ a house band. They had 35 players move forward to the 2nd show, were at the top of the 2nd show they immediately called out ten folks and said you're outta here, you didn't make the cut into the band. Then the judges formed five bands of five players and performed a cover song in front of the judges. They were critiqued and some of the players were jostled around to other bands. They typically played R&R/Country/R&B covers.

So I have no idea what the object of the show is or were its going next week and I don't think the show does either; but its interesting and the bands are really decent considering its an on the fly jam band.

People getting a shot is cool. If a band is developed they're getting exposure and promotion. Eric I will watch this Friday. 8)

Appears I had the wrong days/times...and other particulars outta whack.
From the shows homepage: http://www.americansupergroup.com/
The show airs on POP on Tuesdays @ 10c , MTV live Thursday @ 7c and MTV classic Friday @ 6c

What I missed; the last show episode 103. All three are available on the homepage(I didn't care for the videos sound quality vs what I saw on TV). Also, there seems to be an extra or two players in each band and from the third episode they will eliminate another person from each band based on the dynamics/live performance sometime on the next show.

They are asking watchers to name the bands on the homepage, seems early since they are still making personnel cuts. Next weeks show the bands will perform their own music, looking forward to that aspect.
That should give watchers better insight into naming the bands...
