I thought I just had to go to Wal-Mart and get the box that says Rock Band on it, then I'll be headlining my basement, don't tell me the commercial lied to me.....Just kidding...

If there are no drummers, learn how to use a drum machine. If there are no bass players, talk one of your friends who is into the same stuff and music you are in to playing bass. 1/3 of the bass players I have known were talked into playing bass at some point...

im a good guitarist now and ive learnt quite a few songs and im also trying to put together a band but i have the same problem. i live in this stupid rich folk community that ill the rich snobby preppy kids play there 5000 dollar guitar through amps that cost just as much. and the worst part is they all play guitar there is practicly no drummers or bassist around, and because theres so many people playing guitar to be cool not cause it's something they really love all the drummers and bassist that are around are already taken. and the town has like a city plannign community that has made some law thing that att all the places where people under 21 are actually able to play gig (and there arent that many) have to have the amps and stuff turned off by 10:45  it sucks!

Same problem with me. Bass and drums. I'm almost thinking of forgetting the guitar in a band and go back to drums, to fill one of the slots.

Have you placed an ad on Bend/Redmond craigslist?

well, one thing you can do is be friends with all the musicians in your area. hang out with them. eventually at least some one will quit/leave/disband. i have the same problems with decent bassist and guitarists.

This is a tough one.First of all, you're going to need a Bassist,a drummer, vocalist, and if possible either a keyboardist or another guitarist.Second, you all have to be on the same wavelength as far as the music goes and how far you want to go with the band.Third and this is the most important, you all have to get along and have to make sure that there are no problems with alcohol, drugs,or egos.

You're obviously trying steer him away from starting a rock band. j/k Hang out at the local music store and get to know other musicians they can help.
