It would be great if Fender could post pictures of actual guitars and basses in every available color & neck combination.

yea i agree... when looking at the guitars most of them only have pictures for a couple of the different color combinations. It would be nice if they could get them up for all the colors.

Yeah I've often found this a drawback of the fender site. It's always the colour that I'm looking for that isn't shown too! Sod's law I guess :P

Yeah I've used that before, never really gives you an idea of what it would look like on each different instrument though. I've ended up resorting to google images usually and it would be nice to be able to do it all within the comfort of the fender site.

yeah that would definitely be awesome if they could implement something like that.

i guess that color chart is a bit out of date too... just looked at it and i'm not seeing a lot of the recent colors.

Yes, I've sometimes wished the Fender website had a graphics feature to allow you to mix and match many combinations of models, colors, pickguards, neck woods and fret markers. There would be a ga-zillion different possible permutations.

But half the fun of ordering a new Fender guitar or bass is the thrill of opening the case and viewing your "baby" for the first time (angels singing, etc.) Who doesn't love that moment?

Roll the dice....

We actually have a new color chart in the works, so stay tuned for that. And yes, showing every instrument in every color would be a very obvious improvement for our Products listings. All I can realistically say at the moment is that that's more of a long-term goal for us.

That was the greatest moment of my life.

Cool, Brad, good to hear about the upcoming tweaked colour chart, and the long-term goals of more comprehensive colour options for different models.

This would go a long way to successfully replace the print version of Frontline which I'm sure many of us liked for the "portability" of a magazine format.

i have put together a pretty giant fender color chart over the last couple months. just something i did with my free time. Its got every color i could possibly find.

one thing i got to add while we are on the subject of color is that Fender offered the Cyclone in Purple Metalic a couple years back and i never saw it in person, or a photo of it on any retail site ever. did it actually ever come out?

heres the link to the color chart. hope it helps some of you out for a resource.

Hey Rob,
Are there any plans for "create-your-own" application, for seeing how various color and pickguard (ect) combinations would look?

Anyone else having a hard time reading the red font on some of the gray backgrounds?

na. my chart is way more low tech then that. its just a collection of retail ready photos from various locations like muscians friend, fender, american musical supply, music123, a bunch of japan websites, pretty much anywhere i could find a new unused stock photo with a white background i saved and uploaded it to my own server so i don't drain thier bandwidth.
