Location: On the loo, regretting that gas station burrito.
Booze and cigarettes are best, then an occasional Slim Jim and Hostess Fruit Pie. :P

One somewhat known singer got fat on peanut butter and banana sandwiches, with a side order of barbiturates.

And Pavarotti was infamous for his 12-course dinners with pasta, pasta and more pasta. As he quipped, the only scale he had a problem with was the bathroom one.

The whole world wants to be thinner but a singer, someone desiring to be in the public eye and who therefore has a greater imperative to maintain good body image, wants to get fat.

I don't know why that should surprise me.

One wonders how successful Taylor Swift would have been had she tipped the scales at 400 instead of 85.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I don't think it's her singing talent that brought here where she is...

But if you have a good voice, being bigger won't stop you. Adele is certainly not as skinny as Taylor Swift.

And in opera, the best singers have typically been fat, to the point that it has lead to the proverb "it isn't over until the fat lady sings".

And let's not forget IZ:

I don't know about his diet, but may venture a guess of spam, spam, spam, eggs, spam, spam, toast and spam.

I can't speak to what others are sayin but I know what I am saying .... which is: it's not in the best interests of a singer to get fat. Especially on purpose. At least not a rock singer, anyway. When you are on stage or having your picture put on an album cover or a poster advertising your next show your physical image is part and parcel with the overall package you present to your public. All you need to do is look at popular recording artists to notice that. Once they are established and rich and can afford to tell the producers where to go and how to get there, then they can put on weight. Like Christina Aguilera for example.
