I’m starting off the day with coffee and cinnamon toast while watching the BBC World News channel. Quality coverage and quality content. What a refreshing look at global events.

Obviously a favourite, BBC constantly holds the number 1 spot overall amongst various ratings. Generally, Fox comes in number 2, and CNN comes in third (although that won’t show up In their polls, or promotion). BBC (1922) was the first of these and others to set the standard for English speaking networks. NBC TV 1939, CBS TV 1941, ABC TV 1948, FOX TV 1986, CNN TV 1980.

BBC televised it’s first drama in 1930, it’s first outdoors coverage in 1931, limited broadcasts in 1934, and regular casting in 1936. 1939 to 1946 saw the TV turned off because of WWII concerns. With over 22,000 regular staff and 35,000 plus when part timers and other services are included, with more than 40 languages, international affiliates, and phenomenal respect amongst their peers, the world’s biggest broadcaster shows that they made up for lost time. 8)
