I’m watching the morning news. I find it different in that a lot of stories occur over night, from local crime to entertaining events and everything in between after a typical work day which also wraps up with decisions and activities,

It’s the beginning of a new day for us, and our night is after most of the world has begun their day and are now ending ours. So, rather than waiting for what amounts to repeated news at noon (usually yesterday’s or morning’s stories) or with the dinner news, something new something old and a lot of fill, there’s something refreshing to discover in the morning before it’s been beaten to death with everyone sharing the same copy and POV. You may find that different in your neighbourhood. Plenty of editorials will always be available throughout the day though as reporters jump on the band wagon to bring us what’s trending.

Last night was Kobe Bryant’s Tribute with the Lakers and LeBron whom I just watched. Nice, but very sad at the same time.

The morning news also, hopefully, gives a heads up about good things to expect for our day.

Is morning news better? Can’t say. It sure is different though and goes down nicely with the morning coffee or what have you.

Morning news? In the current 24 hour news cycle, who is to say when morning is? Morning for you may be afternoon for someone else.

Don't get me wrong, the point I'm making is, different people have different mornings.

Maybe the more salient point is different people have different Local News

My local news consists mostly of what apartment building caught on fire, or what crime occurred.

While I care about someone who no longer has a home, or someone who has fallen victim to some slimeball, I would love to see news presented without opinion.

The 24 hour news channels do nothing to present the news objectively. Frankly, I think they do nothing much other than to do drive a wedge between conservatives and liberals.
No wonder neither of them can find consensus on much of anything.

Or accomplish much of anything.

Maybe it's time for term limits.

So to reign this in, the "global" news is the USMCA has been signed, and Brexit has occurred.

What does this mean for Fender? No idea. Sorry to probably get to "political" for this forum.

TPG Growth sold some of their holdings to SERVCO Capital.

Fender is now owned by what amounts to is essentially a Hawaiian car dealer.

Which is why I compare them to the "GM" of guitar makers. They could be so much more. There won't be any TARP for them.

Getting ready for the Super Bowl. Gotta get the ribs ready and the cold ones. Cheapest ticket in the stadium at this moment is over $7,000!
A little scoring background and comparison in the North American sport:

Last year’s score:
13 - 3 Patriots over Rams.
Lowest score for a Super Bowl ever!

Sure hope that boring game isn’t repeated this year. My guess is that it couldn’t be worse, unless it’s a blowout.

Two of the lowest scoring games played in Canada were 2 - 0 Toronto/Hamilton 1947 and 3-0 Calgary / Winnipeg 1949

I think they thought each was a hockey game without a goalie.
However, the Grey Cup’s lowest score came in 1975 with Edmonton over Calgary 9 - 8

1990 the highest scoring CFL game ever was 68 - 43 for a total of 111 points! Toronto over BC.

Ironically, 1989 the year before saw Saskatchewan over Hamilton 43 - 40 for the highest score in the Grey Cup.

Interestingly enough, over the same season (our game ends before the New Year), there must have been something in the Gatorade, because the following Super Bowl (a few months after our championship) in 1990 also saw it’s highest score 30 years ago. 55 - 10 San Francisco over Denver.

Steve Young took the 49ers to a 1995 Super Bowl win with the trophy’s highest total combined score of 75 points. 49-26 over Denver.

The highest scoring NFL game, however, was 72 - 41 Redskins over Giants in 1966 for a combined total of 113 points! Hard to compare leagues as there are 3 Canadian downs instead of four for the NFL which plays on a shorter and narrower field. Probably, the reason 50 yard (and more less often) field goals are common here.

A low score doesn’t always mean a bad or boring game; but, that is usually only when the teams are evenly matched throughout the game. IMHO

My guess is this Super Bowl game will be a good one. The odds vary leaning towards San Francisco in most, but not all, cases. A total combined score of 55 to 60 points has been predicted. Hey! That’s the beauty of football. Nobody knows for sure. Let’s hope the game is for real. Sports is not doing well in that arena in recent years.
Enjoy the festivities.

Cheers!
FSB

If the 49ers are ahead, I’d suggest putting J-Lo in the Chiefs’ scoring area. If the Chiefs are leading, put Shakira in the other end zone. If it’s a blowout put both J-Lo and Shakira in the losers’ scoring territory.

See? Coaching ain’t that hard.
:P
