Pretty damn funny FSB. Kudos to you for watching something in a country that doesn't have much to do with you in yours. Wait? what? I watch stuff to do with Brexit, or China Tariffs. I'm thankful that I now have time to do that.

The "average" American doesn't have time to watch all this crap. They certainly didn't have time to watch while they were working during the week on tv.

What will all this bring?
Don't know, but I think it will bring interesting results from the 2020 elections in the US.
How many Democrats will get reelected? How many Republicans will get reelected?

China tariffs? USMCA? How does that affect Fender? Brexit? Does that affect Fender at all? Do you think we'll hear anything about that from Fender at all here? Doubt it.

And that's probably is the way it should be here.

I'd love to be able to express political views here, maybe I've managed to do that previously, and gotten away with that.

I'll admit, I don't trust anyone especially Fender, to keep my personal info unavailable to anyone because I post here.
Have you ever looked at what's left over in your temporary files after visiting here? 0 byte temporary files? Seriously? If you think Fender is not tracking you. You're sadly mistaken.
Do I think that Fender has the right to do that? Absolutely, yes. You probably agreed to that a long time ago.

Well, vinyl, you are right that politics is frowned upon here on the Forum, and I believe that to be reasonable. I’m pretty independent and share a little of everything finding good and bad not because there’s a political party or trending, just because age can open doors to ideas and observations based on mistakes made and lessons learned and still learning.

That said, I’ll leave specific politics off the table and add this:

Some would be mistaken or less informed to think that we (USA and Canada) don ‘t share culture, influential media, politics and, briefly, much that makes us more alike than different. I know of citizens both here and there that share agendas, knowledge, and support across the border on many things from defence like NORAD, intelligence, investigations, statistics, political methodology, industry, science, and a lot in between. Sadly, we face the same threat of terrorism, of course, here and on the battlefield.

Last year Barack and Michelle Obama took their turns on stage here in the city as well as Anderson Cooper. The Clintons have done the same in the past. I didn’t indulge, I prefer to look at government (including leaders that become celebrities, and I’ve met my share), as being servants for hire since their cheques come from the public. I don’t vote for personalities or consider token awards when given a better choice. Reporters who reach that ego status, well . . . they simply serve the customers, and hopefully they all do a good job as expected. If the talk was topical, I might consider attending. YMMV. Perhaps, some of that out of town and country hopping, gathering change in their pocket, filled party coffers. Happens all the time. Ours or yours. I’m sure ideas were exchanged knowing the prominent federal and provincial liberals participated here in town, and that they present invitations on a timely basis. This comradeship takes on different goodwill adventures around the world, and directly or indirectly interest is reenforced and it usually comes about wth a hopeful, predetermined result.

Countries are man made borders, and we would do well to look outside our yard to have a better understanding, lest we are thought to live in a bubble (unless we want to be isolated). Besides, my grandfather, having lived in Canada, was from Boston and New York and, along with American relatives in Detroit and Monterey, and my having worked for and with American companies on this side of the border, it’s pretty easy to see we share this big mixed up world of ours. With our border intact or apart, we on this continent are pretty small in the overall picture. So, regardless of political differences and all, we’re are joined at the hip like the Shuttle’s Canada Arm that built the International Space Station put up there by professionals from around the world, and it takes all of us to survive. That is why the interest, vinyl.
