I often keep a few of the PBS video recordings of the Oldies artists as a reference and enjoyment. I’m sipping Pina Colada and groovin’ after watching the Linda Ronstadt special.

One might think this old dude just listens to old music. Nope! I’ll listen to any great music, and the 60s has enough to fill an album ya think? :D

Lately, I’ve been thinking of where the beginning and end of rock is going. Things are evolving and changing as they always do, and it reflects society as it always has. For now, with much of the generations before and after mine, old and/or newer traditional rock came to be embraced in some part . . . not so much amongst the millennials, or by today’s big recording industry and it’s supporting media. Pretty obvious.

I think a lot of the rock still accepted is by osmosis through current groups who accept, develop, or borrow the essence of earlier groups and artists. The originators are dwindling, many that followed are too. This will leave us with tribute and cover groups, and so on. I don’t think rock will totally leave; but, give it two more generations, a twist of a knob or plunk of a key, perhaps, a wave of the hand, and that R word may only be found as history in the Rock and Roll museums around the world unless they call the music of the times something that it isn’t - Rock. Forget about the Roll.

Aw fuggedabout it.

I’m watching a slew of gadgets with AI and a variety of personal robots for homes and elsewhere. One and two-way conversations and instructions along with cameras for facial recognition and for carrying out tasks are everywhere. They are an integral part of the technology.

All of this can often be controlled with or without restrictions according to the wishes of and programming from the owner within the scope of the technology made available.

A thing that comes to mind is that if invasion of privacy is not yet a problem for you in your own space, it’ll get worse Let’s forget the AI, mic’s, and cameras that you may have just because you can or because you want to. Add the eavesdropping and analytical stuff in your home that you may not be aware of. I read today that Google has introduced that you can now call out “Hey, Google! That data is not for you!” or something to that effect. I wonder why that is?
Good luck with that and the cameras and mic’s that aren’t yours when you visit family, friends, and the world around you. Your movements and conversations are pretty much available for whatever and whoever decides it is theirs at your expense. 8)
Fat chance we’d be rude to ask for those gadgets to be turned off for our benefit. My guess is that marketers and others can even monitor the aisle ways of malls and stores should they find a reason, and reasons are plentiful. Maybe, those open laptops on display are watching us. I find all this cuteness offensive now, but down the road . . .

Compared to the $2000 home voice automation on loan that I had four decades ago, the recognition is better developed today, but questionable to say the least. IMHO

Snicker. I have an Ace up my sleeve. Anybody who visits my space will out of courtesy reciprocally be
compromised by my data collecting goodies. Brilliant! Sorry, I can’t point them all out to you, it’s a secret.
Perhaps, that's for the best. I’ll leave the snooping to the rest.

I have a feeling retro will become a trend in the future. Sort of like the resurgence of records. :D
You might want to keep that early or present HDTV, and find that on/off button if there is one. Dang! Gotta use that current smart phone and/or that data stealing car. - Busted! Unless we wear a mask, speak in a different tongue, and text with code. I think we’d be late for the party.

All this enticing gotcha goes to show how we can step forward to be directed and re-directed by others.

Aw fuggedaboutit. Bigfoot is real. Betcha he wears a toque.
