Totally agree FSB.
Just like you who has no vote in our government, we have no vote in Brexit. What we do share a vote in is the USMCA. How do you feel about that?

Sorry, that was totally inappropriate. My personal belief is we can be friends here. Despite any political feelings.

Cheers,
vinyl

Hey, vinyl. No worries. No offense taken. My writing, perhaps missed the gist of my meaning.

I can’t criticize anyone’s politics, I don’t even understand ours. The Forum limits the political blab anyhow, so I’ll use it for context realizing every one has their own passion or not, and I truly respect that. Over the years I’ve exhausted both sides of the fence big time, and with age I’ve found the fence hurts no matter where you sit. I’d rather see Big Blue with all the collective data of the past take over. Just kidding, but the possibility begs the question “Could it do any worse?” I think governments and politics, regardless of country, has gotten too big for their britches YMMV and, for a lot of it, history holds a lot of failures with their successes and the work done has a lot of fluff that is unnecessary. In some ways government as we know it has become obsolete, and corporations the world over are waiting in the wings and shadows, not to say that’s good or bad; although, I am leaning to the latter.

Government is like the big companies online where the users who took them to where they are now are getting shot in the foot at their own oblivion.

Why heck, here, in your country, and elsewhere controversial statues tumble, and yet some country’s still have traditional monarchs on their coins. I’m still baffled over that :?:
What I did and do questionably mean to have conveyed from my beginning post is my concept of how media injects every form of entertainment with issues of the day. Just because media is a powerful tool, doesn’t mean the job at hand can’t be overproduced.

There has always been political innuendos, and outright blatancy on stage, in motion pictures, and on radio to be brief.

The 5Os were more tongue in cheek subtleties. It was a time where we laughed at ourselves and with each other. The 60s saw a teeter totter of politics on TV, in the musical arena, on the street, even with satire comics, and it ran everywhere with free speech exercised to the max unless you were, perhaps, a Smothers Brother and sponsors got involved. It was a time of oppression and aggression that saw moderates try to diffuse the radicals. Music was both angry and passive. Hollywood became a tool for the Whitehouse and they became bedmates. Eventually, politics was more likely to be in the boardroom than on a script. Archie Bunker and friends arrived in the early 70s. The influential socially driven political trend continued until it was finely tweaked to where it is today. On late night monologues.

I don’t think that was the intention of early inventors that graced us with wonderful ways of communicating which brings us to the question, “Is media communicating or is it doing something else?”

I can’t tell you. It’s said that those of us with media backgrounds are terrible communicators (myself included).

Pretty interesting times.

Cheers back at ya, vinyl my friend.

The CNN/New York Times Democratic Debate. Hopefully that doesn't sound too political. Hopefully it also doesn't sound like I can't think for myself.

Conclusion:

Should have watched the game instead.
