I'm not watching anything. I read Mr. Nylon was watching The Rifleman. What a great old series that was.

Watching various concert videos. Blue Cheer, Can, John Cale, etc.

Good choice.

Here in Canada we do not have Pandora (I wish) and a whole lot of other desirable media that is allowed elsewhere. Free trade, huh?

Government legislation restricts many would be outside enterprises. It also makex it difficult for this country's entrepreneurs to compete against the monopolies as is done elsewhere. Cherry picking is okay, though.

We pay for a new Smart TV, but many of the included apps are blocked just like the Super Bowl commercials. I find it ironic that media always promotes freedom of the press, and yet the people they aim to reach are not permitted freedom of choice? Aargh!

Time to set up Pirate radio in the Great Lakes. My Radio Caroline shirt is at the ready. 8)

Meanwhile, I'm watching what's permitted. Oh, dang . . . It's a chic movie for Mrs. FSB. Can't get the Blues on Pandora. Where's my Lawrence Welk record?

Oh wow I had no idea that Canada was so restrictive. That really surprises me.
I'm sure you've looked at the cool videos on YouTube though. You can get them, right? I like Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festivals. They're about two hours long and EC invites many of the today's great guitarists to join in. I think he did the festival every two years so there are a few of them on YouTube.

Canada is also quite fond of indicting American-based US talk-show hosts whose radio shows are heard in Canada due to alleged controversial content which is apparently illegal to broadcast there. I never thought of Canadians as children who need benevolent "guidance" to protect the from legitimate social discourse but apparently their government does.

You are kidding about the indictments, aren't you, Arjay? I would not rule that out though. I can remember when Howard Stern was banned here, and Canada does not have a CNN bureau to my knowledge; but, including some friends of mine, Canadians are involved working for CNN. (Perhaps, another way to subtlely support the message? Works both ways. Naw, couldn't happen).

We have the national Canadian Broadcasting Network which, aside from a history of losing taxpayers' money over forced Canadian content, is a quality innovative (both technically and artistically) globally respected trend setting (I'm told they invented hockey (not really) and the 'thunk' hole microphone for golf) television and radio national network that is argumentatively run by the government of Canada, and it is politically top heavy. It would take a whole Forum to explain how it uses its connections to control much of the Canadian media and the public. What the Government can't control, they buy into like satellite radio, music streaming on your cable TV , and a whole lot more.

A basically Liberal initiated partisan Canadian Radio Television Commission is the enforcer, and it has done the bidding of the existing monopolies, (like replacing American sponsor commercials with ours) but, some deregulation is coming as to appease the disgruntled masses by dangling the carrot. World Trade and copyright agreements put handcuffs on the rest.

As for things like You Tube, Marky, we do get it . . . but, not all. With a lot of media, (limited Netflix) including from good companies like Fender, we are lucky to get "Not available in your country!" videos. It really hurts when you want to be educated on something or you don't want to get re-directed from a newsletter. I have seen and enjoy Slow Hand's great gatherings of players, and I have the 50th Strat Anniversary Blu-ray which I highly recommend.

Well, that's the long and short of it. Phew!

Last I looked Canada's freedom rating was, surprisingly, teetering around 12th. in the world. Still better than hundreds of countries as we all know; but, some ways to go if possible. Unfortunately, big brother keeps growing. But, I'm watching them now as I turn on the TV to catch up on the morning news because my remote's VUDU button does not work. :lol:As Martian would have put it YMMV.

Well, I was so tired last night that I erroneously posted this in the wrong thread (What are you listening to?)
So now I'm transferring it here:

I had a dream to fly a Naval Grumman Tracker because, having flown since 10 years of age, I always liked the variety and adventure of prop driven aircraft. Never happened; but I'm good with that.

So now I'm enjoying the history of a similar looking, but different application, plane with much bigger blades. The Osprey. That's more like it. Cool plane.

Heaven to murketroids . . . what a goof.

I'm stretched out in bed and continuing the series of Air Warriors. Tonight, or should I say morning, it's about the Apache chopper, and next is Drones.
