We watched the recording of NBA Game 5. Great game but darn that last turnover. My son reminded me that the game is 48 minutes long and I can't blame it on that one play. Don't you hate it when your kids are smarter than you are?

That's why I haven't any kids. Just kidding. I ain't that lucky. If I had any smarties they would have problems. Me. I'd make them look smarter or younger just to embarrass them when we're out in public.
Go Raptors!
Have a ball and enjoy the game fellas (and ladies), boys and girls.

The Raptors had a great season and deserved the win. IMO
Congrats, FSB!

Thanks, Marky.

The Warriors gave us a great bunch of games to get excited about.

The Warriors are equally a deserving team, and the chain of events were difficult for a great team, but I gotta hand it to the Raptors as they took on challenges throughout the season to get to where they are, and they are a great team.

What they have done for this country, the NBA, and basketball in general is something you have to see and experience on this side of the border. One thing for sure, it puts hockey on an equal footing (and maybe not) where it should be. After all, every school has a basketball court but not an ice rink. Plus, funding and coverage for Winter sports including the Olympics is huge at the expense of other sports. I’m not dissing hockey per se. I like international hockey (including women’s), miss the WHA, and the old NHL culture before it was manipulated for special interests.

I played hockey as did my brother, and so did most Canadian boys of my generation; however, that hasn’t been the case for some time, and following generations and diversity has changed that. I know hockey well and rubbed shoulders with many of the greats. They are not the problem. Out of proportion promotion, rewriting history, and (long story short) taxpayers supporting business that sticks it to them (both on and off the ice) to suit those involved is.

Ironic that the Stanley Cup runs into basketball championship and the baseball season, bordering on football too. Seriously? Baseball, Football, and Basketball championships do not step on each other Do you think that the NHL stepping on Basketball Finals and Soccer’s World Cup (currently women’s) is coincidental? roll: Maybe, it’s the only time the fog machine was available.
But, hey! There’s room for everyone.
Congrats and thanks, Raptors! Ya did good.

Here’s a flash: Winnipeg is about to host the Oakland Raiders and the Green Bay Packers for a pre-season game reported to be on Aug. 2//19 here in hockey town. Considering the Vikings former great coach Bud Grant was ours first, it makes sense. 8)
Factoid: The Raptors won games 1,3,4, and 6. Same as the Toronto Blue Jays.

Elysium.
Netflix.
Marky Mark without the Funky Bunch.
A kind of Jesus dies on the cross movie.
One guy dies so all humanity can live.
Corny ending but a decent story until the corny ending.
I almost stopped watching just a few minutes into it, though.
I'm a real stickler for believability.
I'm fairly observant and I pay attention to what's going on and what should be happening.
If things get inconsistent so the story slaps me across the face with the fact that I am viewing fiction it can dislodge me from my immersion in the story and when that happens I can lose interest quickly.
When Marky Mark was being flippant with the robots and got himself into trouble that was not realistic behavior for a character that had grown up in that society.
Maybe for someone who'd grown up in OUR society but like, from 50 years ago, not 140 years into the future.
That was enough for me to shut it off.

But then rocked out for a while and when I was done I turned it back on.
I could post for days on end on Glenn's GuitarYouKeepGoingBackTo thread.
That Strat I built is so killer ....
(OK .... off topic)
