Thanks, Marky. Well, sailors are superstitious by nature and tradition. Some might scoff at it, but with Earth covered 71% by oceans, there is still a lot to discover and there are a lot of friendlies and not so friendly to discover us. So, ya just never know what surprise will show up. :wink: Personally, I’m divided on the mystique, but I do know this, I’ve seen some wonderous things like the rarely seen Will-o’-the-Wisp on land and St.Elmo’s Fire on a ship traveling alongside. Crossing the Atlantic (1965) we chased and shot and exploded a delinquent WWII mine floating in the shipping lanes. :shock: That could have created a mystery for some unsuspecting crew. My father circumnavigated the globe several times. He and others have seen and told of strange events or thought they had seen even more. My dad said someone told him convincingly that the The Flying Dutchman ghost ship exists. Do I believe it? Can’t say.

Maybe, someday, along with the U.S. Naval pilots who recently got their UFO investigation, we’ll all have great discoveries and answers to our questions. :D
