Ralph and Norton digging their grave as they try to wiggle their way out of Ralph’s mistaken physical ailment diagnosis story for which he got paid $5000 and now has to return.

The Juno Awards - not the Grammys, but Corey Hart gets inducted into the Canadian Hall of Fame. Good choice IMHO

I have given up on television for the most part. Can no longer tolerate the propaganda. Mostly follow youtube and Roku (old movies) still surf the web about guitars and gear. Here too, but you all know that. :D
When I worked day in night out in the industry I came home and took a retreat and chilled as an audiophile when I wasn’t preparing for the upcoming events. That hasn't changed much except technology has altered the game.

Now I try to watch even less TV, except that my better half has it on most days. One enjoyment I have is catching up with older programming that I missed (like the Sopranos), and some old (S)VHS video tapes on their way out. Series like The Vikings and GOT, some related UFO shows, history, car shows, and such keep me occupied from the general fluff and schlock. Sitcoms and reality shows take a backseat and, for me, fixit shows. Although I enjoyed the DIY, they have run their course in this house. It was a mistake to allow the big boys with the big toys to monopolize the media. When it’s good it’s all good. When it’s bad (and it mostly is IMO) it’s all bad. Usually, I’ll collect some blockbuster series and we then have a marathon viewing with our 2 connected pvrs and a third separate one. I too watch YouTube. I’m presently
checking out a Video Prime promotion that comes free with Amazon Prime, but I haven’t decided to keep it yet. Before YouTube I had cellular TV, but I found that I never got to watch much from beginning to end when on the move so I cancelled it.

Today’s movies are peppered with crap using on the payroll network grade B actors and music video artists (many who should stick to what they do best) in made for TV dumbed down pictures with similar writing, perhaps generic soundtracks, and now docudramas with subliminal or direct messaging from the Warner group or others like them. The audience eats it up so the networks keep feeding them with mush. More bang for the buck (for the TV moguls) flogging this at the theatre before the home and mobile market. A lot of mediocrity, cheap humour, poor scripting, and less than polished acting. Slip in a little CGI, or a guest cameo, and you have a winner. The cinema blockbusters are often not, it’s just that they are better than the standard fare and the same owners promote the s*** out of them with marvellous reviews written by the makers.
The champagne is gone and so is the good beer. Lots of cheap draft, but once it’s poured you’ll find it gets flat pretty fast.

Just my two cents. YMMV.

All of this is okay with me. More time for the guitar and all. Besides I can catch up on the entertainment and news with the same clique at the cashiers’ magazine rack. Phttt! :P
