My weeds grow. So much for the 6 month guarantee. I'll have to call the weed company, again.

If you have purchased CDs you likely have some fraudulent ones. It was a major problem from discs made in Holland (as one, but not the only, example) in the 80s. DVDs go without saying. Downloads were and are questionable, and we know in the 90s copyright laws were extremely confusing and misleading. Policies, law, promotion and suppositions were a blur. A lot of fake news circulated.

You might like this media longevity article (one of many of course).

Cheers, and thanks.

Happy dubbing and viewing gang, :D

Thanks for the information and longevity article, FSB.

You mean that some of the cd's that I legally purchased from legit stores may be pirated? Normally I'd be shocked to learn that, but nothing much surprises me these days. :)

Yeah, I know that’s probably no surprise, but. aside from the bootlegs and fraud, when CDs first came out sometimes, even side by side, record store CDs looked and sounded very close to the same, but not exact, and the lesser CD could often be, legitimately or not, identified with a very small graphic indication (not the better known DDD). I got to know the difference, but forgot how. It was more of a false or misleading advertisement that sometimes was noticeable audibly by A/B comparison. It may even have have come from generational master transfers much like lesser records. The problem being that you could buy (as now) a lesser product for the same or inflated price. Record maker and their line was no assurance, all things being equal.

The wide spread sham made international news that irritated audiophiles. Not really anything new, but more attention to quality occurred with digital purchase and playback. Most people didn’t splurge for audiophile vinyl; but, they did for CDs. The CD and fraud or misleading ones ironically had a major impact from the same land of origin.

Then, this thread being “ What are you watching?“, we were blessed with DVDs that were what they said, until you saw a tape crease in the middle of the show.”

As for your weeds Marky, they would do well in this liberal country.
