Oh, sure. Just for that I’m gonna tell you it was cherry jello and light whipping cream for dessert tonight; but, to make up for it I’ll give you this:

I guess it won't help if I watch another episode of Perry Mason at !!:30 PM tonight either.
You have good taste in programs Mr.Nylon. Which Perry Mason are ya gonna watch? You might wanna grab a hamburger while you’re at it. :P

How about the Crimson Tide this year? Outstanding. Maybe, they should stop pickin’ on the other guys. Naw, thst wouldn’t be any fun.

Right now I’m watching the 52nd Annual CMA Awards. You can always depend on these awards to reward new talent based on talent if ya get my drift. I’m bettin’ we’ll have some good old school Rock ‘n Roll too, as usual. The other Keith will play and Mavis Staples is lined up to go on stage. Should be good.

I watch whatever Perry Mason episode is aired on METV at the time. I do like watching the play style of Bama. In the majority of plays, the Bama player follows through to the end of the play. They don't usually run out of bounds, and end a play. They strive for more yards, then at times it turns into a bigger ending to the play.

Hoffman and Leary took LSD? Phttt! When I was a little kid living amongst poppies, and magic mushrooms in the land of BC Bud, I had a cup of mushroom soup. :P Look at me now. Some crazy guy who lives in 40° below territory next door to Saskatchewan where your movie took place and where Capone hid out. I live here where, perhaps argumentively, the best Canadian Whiskey (Crown Royal) is made, and where the legal generic drug industry is king alongside major illegal crystal meth.

I could go on forever on this great LSD documentary; but, I’ll keep it as short as I usually do.
First, thanks Paul. Interesting. I’m betting I know which island Hubbard lived on being close by. In the 60s I remember reading classified ads looking for willing candidates to experiment with LSD at local universities. I don’t know how well they did, since La La Land had a jump start on them in Heroin Hell.

What is interesting is that Canada is now leading the way with marijuana. Government, liberal educators and many of their followers led and misled are happy to call each other intellects with awards (as if no other intellects existed or qualify), agriculturalists and chemical companies along with farm equipment manufacturers, medical researchers and their corporations, the media and advertising industry, the patent holders, business tycoons and monopolies, the music industry, the legal profession, the legal and illegal entrepreneurs, those in physical pain. the rebel, the kid on the street, those with issues, the swayed, the media junkie, the groupies, the ambivalent, the trendy, the curious, and more are only too willing to say, “hi(gh)!” Me? I say each to their own, but I’m a little leery (pun intended). I turned LSD down when offered it in Golden Gate Park. Hi(gh) is not new to me.

How big is Mary Jane here in Canada? Well, the military gets a pass off duty as long as it’s within the time period allotted before and after work. That should be good for a quick callback.
It’s supposed to be medicinal at first, guidelines are supposed to be in place but they have, for a large part, followed the introduction of recreational cannabis. The industry had time to ramp up to hit the store shelves and the communities big time, but society does not have all it’s rules, regulations, and enforcement in place. The biggest cigarette outlet, a drugstore chain, will dispense marijuana and so will government liquor outlets. Convenient and peculiar, huh? I wonder if brownies will be a Safeway delicacy. More promotion than cars, beverages, or any other commercialism ever seen aside from, perhaps, fashion, and they have a share in that too. Billboards, both traditional and electronic, and print media talk about weed everywhere, and I mean everywhere! The national network supports the present government as do the other networks (supported in return by the government) so there’s some bias both on the screen and on the Internet. The press is mostly on board. Taxpayers are hit with an escalating tab for new services and government programs that are overflowing (from hearing sessions, to informational junk mail, to early school education, to policing, and for tackling substance abuse to say the least). The profits are astronomical, and I doubt if much will trickle down to the taxpayers who support it willingly or unwillingly. Kind of reminds me of the Lotteries when factoring in checks and balances.

The documentary’s LSD/drug argument and comparison with the indigenous with their peyote and other hallucinogenics is moot. IMHO. When it comes to drugs, our society is highly associated with profit and amusement, and other fundamental considerations are often put on the back burner, where theirs is (not totally when it comes to power such as Shamans) more traditional both on history and spirit, and it is definitely less political and profit oriented.

As for the documentary, one needs to learn of the NFB, CBC, BBC, PBS, Voice of America, and similar in how and to a point why they began. Only then can many of these entertaining and informative displays be taken at face value. As a director I did some study on them and I was keen to make documentaries, and did do some of that. Many of these institutions can be seen to change their approach as times and society change. This is not to say the development is good or bad, but it depends on one’s own take. As a collector and former member I know, National Geographic, once an adventurous magazine into discovery (and it still is) has evolved (for good or bad) into an influential modern societal periodical that is quite different than the original magazine. There are many reasons for this, some to do with discoveries, historical and today’s science, mass media, changing interests, a lot to do with funding and politics, and other matters. Some years back the NFB, along with Stats Can which is often a resource for the NFB, was turned upside down to better reflect present government interest. Again, not that there isn’t merit with National Geographic and the NFB, PBS, and alike, but it is part of the game, or maybe it’s just the editorial judgment.
The previous documentary on LSD is not too far from the ones on marijuana as they were or are today. You’ll find similar players with the same accolades and arguments and optimistic/pessimistic views. The danger in using these documentaries or reports for reference to make a decision is that depending on the flavour of the day, the motivation behind it, and the makers, the beginning, middle, and end can be interchanged to reflect a desired outcome. You can show how great it is to fly or how terrible it is to crash.

Either way it stirs up interest. Thanks, for the post and the documentary that tells of how the 60s got to be a wild and crazy happening, Paul. I enjoyed it.

Peace!

Wow! Bill and Steve together. Looking forward to watching that when I get more time. I’ll sit back with a favourite beverage and settle in for an informative piece of entertainment. Thanks, Marky.

Thanks, FSB. I hope you enjoy the video. It was cool seeing them together talking about how personal computing has evolved and the work that they did together. I learned a lot from it.

Outstanding Tide!

Today the CFL has it’s final two games to choose the teams for the 106th Grey Cup next Sunday, November 25th. expected to be a doozy.

At Central Standard Time:

11am pregame 12pm Eastern Final
Hamilton Tiger Cats (my forner home)
at Ottawa Red Blacks.

3pm pregame 3:30pm Western Final
Winnipeg Blue Bombers (my current home)
at Calgary Stampeders.

If I’m lucky I’ll have two long time rival hometowns in the Grey Cup. I’m exhausted just thinking about it.
Catch it if you can. It’ll be a great introduction to the game on this side of the border.

Thatsa my team, Doug Flutie’s, and June Jones’ too. :D

The Bombers were Bud Grant’s team before he went to the Vikings. :P

Bud Grant, one of the finest head coaches around. Very similar to Vince Lombardy, Marv Levy, Tom Landry, Don Shula.

I’m watching the bad guys celebrate as I watched two home towns go down in defeat. Waaaaaa.
I think it was a curse because they both wore red and black. Phht!

I’m taking it like a true football fan since Calgary and Ottawa both earned their stripes. They could have been a lot nicer though.
What’s that overused saying? “Next year” cough cough. :?

I wish the winners of the Finals this score in next week’s Grey Cup:
