It’s what I’m not watching. :x CFL playoffs crunch is happening with the 2018 Grey Cup about to happen this month November 25/2018. A shift in ownership and contracts has prevented me from having the games I’m used to having on my cable plan. I’m still paying for it but not getting all the games. At least not the team I want to see three times in a row, and yet the others are available. This is the only team and their opponents that has been omitted from the regular coverage, and yet the games are being covered, and they are available on 3 bundled pay channels that will require an extra $100 over the year! I already have my share of sports channels and online so that is moot. Streaming the game has it’s own issues in that it is tied to Bell telephones which I’ll pass on to be brief. Others streams are certified by the CFL have been found, but the streaming is not allowed in this country. Besides, no ticket no washet. I have a tickey.

It’s not the cash or just the game, but without notification or explanation these changes without compensation or fixes are piling up and having worked with all the parties involved, the CFL, the Networks, and the provider and. with friends still involved with the games at the coverage and broadcast level, ir’s time to go face to face and look at options. I’ll probably lose, but I play a good game.

Go get 'em, FSB. I've got your back.

I tried to watch the last World Series baseball game only to find out that I had to subscribe to the MLB channel. I'm not a big fan of baseball but since when did you have to pay for a World Series game? I tried all the major network and cable channels like ESPN and couldn't get it. When I did a search, the only channel that was showing it was MLB. What the heck?

Thanks! Yeah, that’s the way things are going, Marky. Really sorry to hear that. What a bummer, huh?

Sometimes, it’s planned obsolescence similar to the computer world where things change and new charges follow, other times it’s transfer of ownership where contractural agreements don’t jibe, sometimes it’s human error, and other times it’s a test to see what the consumer will allow or some other cockamamie idea.

Well, I had quite a day. Eight hours before the game, I phoned the cable company that put me on a 45 minutes to an hour waiting list or on a call back, and then the automated call told me I was number 165 in the lineup on the phone. Not for long! Into the car me and my better half went.

Now we travel 15 minutes south to the company’s local headquarters where service and operations are. Whoa! Now billboards and clapboards announce the customer service is closed for good and relocated to the north in the opposite direction through the heaviest traffic heading to the largest mall where a new office is located.

We locate the new digs and a fella takes our name and once more another waiting list. Not too bad. Only about ten minutes until I meet a nice kid who is told that I had experiences with blackouts and how they work and don’t work and that the friends I have at TSN would live to hear how their game wasn’t being seen. I was nice about it though. My rage is typically in reserve for impact.
Long story short I got 4 missing sport channels with 3 to choose from for my game(s). I kept all of my original channels and threw in a game channel for Mrs. FSB, straightened out some Internet issues and walked away a happy customer. All this for $50 less a month for a year, and I was told to renew at the same time next year and then I should be able to maintain the same. Woo Hoo! Problem solved and a happy customer. Thanks, Shaw.

Now I’m sipping a Moscow Mule watching Winnipeg and Edmonton and then the former blacked out Hamilton TiCats versus the Montreal Alouettes with recent addition QB Johnny “Football” Manziel (formerly aTiCat for a brief moment). Should be interesting.

Life is good! Another example to never give up,
FSB

I like many sports. Hockey sometimes.

But, mess around with my football and it’s time for the bell at ringside.
:P

Go get ‘em Tide!
