I’m watching yesterday’s PVR’d CFL Toronto Argonauts versus the Hamilton Tiger Cats in TO.

November 25th Edmonton will host the 106th Grey Cup (1916, 17, 18 no game because of WW I).

First Gey Cup - 1909.
First NFL Champioship - 1920
First Super Bowl - 1967

Second Grey Cup was in 1910 between the Hamilton Tigers and the Toronto Argonauts. That rivalry continues today as Hamilton and Toronto are close enough to be twin cities.

The good guys win. “Roar”. My nephew spilled the beans by email before I got to see the game. We’re hoping that both our team’s (also rivals) Winnipeg and Hamilton meet for the championship. We both live in Winnipeg, but we cheer on each other’s team being born in different cities. :P

I hope the Crimson did their job tonight for ya, Glenn. :D

Nice choice. I've watched that movie at least 10 times. It's a good one.

Roll Tide.

The Grey Cup 1909. That's a while back.

Yup! Prior to that the founding teams were English Rugby teams that gave us football that came to be what it is today. My birthplace team began in 1869, has remained in one form or another, and it could be a Grey Cup contender now in 2018. That makes the Club 149 years old! :D

As a comparison, Harvard is the oldest rugby club in the USA beginning in 1872 making it 146 years old.

Still older:
1861
First documented football game Toronto

1864
First Canadian football team
Toronto (154 years old)

1865
First credited Canadian football game
Montreal

1868
Montreal becomes a football club

1874
Montreal challenges Harvard to a rugby/football game

After this the game of football continues to evolve on both sides of the border.

FSB

Good thing we don’t have Army / Navy games though. We’d be in big trouble.

One more thing:
The Montreal/Harvard game in 1874 ended in a scoreless tie. :D

You know, I watched the show, "H.R. Pufnstuf," that they parodied when I was probably 4 or 5 years old, or around that time. I have to say it was one hell of a head trip to lay on a little kid, but that's what happens when hippies make kid's shows. :P

That’s how you got to be so groovy, Paul. I was stuck with Howdy Doody and Dick and Jane books. Look what that did to me. :?

Well, you were around during the whole hippy generation, so maybe Howdy Doody had something to do with it, or it could have been what my dad called "narcotic music." :P
