So far so good. The set design, computerized and otherwise, is a beautiful work of art. The movie’s on pause, while replenishments of coffee and raisin oatmeal cookies with a slather of peanut butter come my way. I know it’s bad for me, but I’m bad to the bone and don’t care. :P Movie’s back on. Hope you enjoy it, Marky. Grab some nummies and suckies.
May the Force be with you all.

I'm looking forward to the movie. Enjoy the rest of it, FSB.

I'm watching some football highlights on YT.

A live video of the Animals from 1966, in Paris. Unfortunately, it gets cut of towards the end near the last song, so who knows how much more there was to this. Still, pretty cool, since it's hard to find stuff like this online, other than individual songs, which were mimed most of the time on various TV shows back then.

The Animals - in Paris & Paris Olympia Live 1966

That was very cool, Paul. Thanks for sharing it. Maybe it cut off because the cameraman was fascinated by the girl in the audience towards the end.

Great find!

Animals

Certainly going to watch your post of the Animals when I get the chance, Paul. Looks good and lookin’ forward to it. Thanks, for the post.

I always thought the Animals were ill promoted. They were my preference over Jagger and the Beatles as I rebeled against the PR and the status quo. After the Beatles expanded their repertoire and did the Ravi Shankar thing, I took notice. I liked the Stones and Beatles, I just didn’t have my tongue hanging out like the album. I really dig Keef, George and Lennon. Unfortunately, Eric and the band were not equal in showmanship and PR IMHO. That’s okay with me. They weren’t part of the Me 2 movement.

Got to meet Eric Burdon a few times over the years when he frequented the ‘Peg, where he played some intimate venues, and showed up at the studios here.

The Animals and the Blues? I’ll take ‘em any day. Wish they had done more though. 8)

They are also my top favorite groups from that era, and one of the reasons I've always had GAS for hollow body basses, when I started playing. Chas Chandler with that Epiphone Rivoli bass. Although, he also had a Gibson EB-2, which was pretty much the same instrument, or one was a copy of the other.

That’s cool, Paul. I became a fan when the crew adopted “We Gotta Get Out Of This Place” after we first heard Radio Caroline blasting it above 4 inch guns while crossing the Atlantic so I was glad it was on your excellent video. Pretty raw and I detected some out of tune stuff there, although film speed could have added to it. It was like being at the event. C’est magnafique mon ami. :D

I imagine back then, they didn't have any monitors, or they were primitive at best, considering PA was in it's infancy. It's amazing how well the Beatles did when I'm sure they couldn't even hear themselves most of the time with all of the screaming going on. I guess all of that time playing in Hamburg and all of that paid off. It was second nature to them.
