White House Correspondents Dinner.

Here’s hoping the jokes outweigh the cynicism. I wouldn’t place any bets on it. Still, I find enough humour in the whole thing that there is bound to be plenty to laugh at. I spent a lot of time with News staff and journalists. Aside from the odd genius and flamboyant character, I don’t recall when or why these presenters became bigger than life except it seemed to have happened when they discovered news without entertainment was a losing adventure.
Now they’re on a red carpet for rip and read. I especially love when there is a name tag for a guest. It almost always says ‘expert’. Whoo boy! Now that’s funnee!

White House Correspondents Dinner was controversial with the lame attempt at comedy (some jokes were funny) amongst the token awards and personal meanness which both Republicans and Democrats found distasteful. Even I was surprised at crossing the line from the predictable, They're sure to be talking about this event for some time to come. I hope the dinner was at least tasteful.
