Dead Pool - It's better than I thought it was going to be. Lots of funny lines.

Thanks, Marky. The Dead Pool looks to be funny as you said. Just caught the preview.

We’re thinking of having regular movie nights now. Here’s the funny thing about it. One of the most popular multi theatres is just two blocks away, and they now have reserved entertainment lounge chairs to go with their dynomite sound setup. About 20 minutes away there is an alcoholic beverage and dining theatre.

I have a bar fridge next to the couch downstairs, so all I need now is some of Paul’s girlfriend’s Naan bread pizza. That sounds pretty good, and then some chocolate, liquorice, and popcorn and we’re good to go. I love the theatre releases too, but being at home is better than lineups for the biffy. Besides. like the days of old, you can get cartoons and double features. :D

I’m guessing that’s a great game, Glenn. I used to follow those teams (amongst others) as a kid.

I just recorded A Season With Navy Football. Looks pretty good.

Hope you enjoy(ed) the game, Glenn.

FSB

CFL Grey Cup teams will be decided this weekend. (Saskatchewan Roughriders vs Toronto Argonauts and Edmonton Eskimos at Calgary Stampeders).

Wow! The Grey Cup coming up already. I used to watch the CFL some years ago. The field is a passer's dream land.
That was a good college game.

I truly love the games on both sides of the border. I was born in the Canadian Football Hall Of Fame town and this one has its own history with the Grey Cup. Some kids get skates and sticks from Santa, and one year I got a bright red football helmet that I needed for the bantam team. I played middle guard as a kid until I lost too much weight to make the team. I’d make it now, but I don’t think the kids want me. Haha.

Aside from the CFL, names like Unitas and Starr got me interested early in American ball as did the college rivalry.

Some think taking the best that each league has to offer in the rules of the game would be dynomite. Others like things the way they are.

The former CEO and President of the Arizona Coyotes made the news today with talks of a team in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This would bring it to 10 teams from coast to coast (something Canadians have wanted for some time).

You might enjoy these comparisons of Canadian football versus American football. Both great sports. IMHO. Enjoy:

Bart Starr was my top QB when I was in high school. Johnny Unitas was a close second.

Cool. We both have good football taste. :P It was a different game back then as with other pro games. Football has been refined and tweaked with bigger populations from which to gather talent, changes in rules, and a different (not always perefeable) discipline amongst other things. The early programs leading up to a pro career are well oiled machines.

I like to think the razzle dazzle playing of QBs like Starr and Unitas set a path for the modern day QBs.

I have a video tape of the greatest NFL players of yesteryear (I believe it’s the greatest QBs). I’ll have to haul it (and the greatest boxers and baseball players) out one day.

Enjoy the season, Glenn.

Cheers!

Big day today.
Today will determine which teams face off in the Grey Cup.
My Eskimos will be up against the number 1 team in the league but I feel our chances are better than good. The Stamps have some injuries and they also have a history of choking when it counts whereas my Eskimos have a deep history of fighting harder when the challenge is greater. Whichever teams wins this one today will almost assuredly go on to win the cup. In that respect this could arguably be called the most important game of the year. Kickoff at 2:30 MDS. I will be at the Edmonton Social House for the official Watch Party. My fave cheerleader Ashley will be there, along with most of the cheer team. She’s such a nice girl. Man, if I was just 30 years younger .... I still wouldn’t have a chance.
