I can see where that would be good. I love football of all sorts. Still tame compared to the prehistoric 3000 year old Gaelic hurling where it’s another hard hitting game; but, with a stick and tackles, it’s a much rougher game overall IMHO. It is also considered the world’s fastest field sport requiring phenominal athletic skills and stamina. In fact many of today’s games are derived from it and it’s origins.

Days of old warriors would hit the heads of their enemies in place of a ball Today hurling will be found not only in Ireland but throughout the world in places such as North America, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, South Africa, Europe, even South Korea, and elsewhere.

Championship games are a tourist attraction, and CNN has even said that Ireland’s Senior championship hurling is the second sport out of ten to see, surpassed only by the Olympics.

Helmets became mandatory in 2010, but they were limited or non-existent until recently. A lot of bandages graced the field.

I know 300 pounders can do damage. I wouldn’t want that abuse. But, they would have trouble keeping up with these guys on this field.
