I'd love to see Fender finally offer roasted necks. Roasted wood is more stable and resonates better. Warmoth, Taylor, and every boutique maker offers it now.

I'd love to see a limited American Standard run with roasted necks. I personally want a Tele and a P-Bass.

G&L Leo's other guitar company. This Comanche has a roasted neck Image

Fender uses roasted necks on the Artisan Series.

TANSTAAFL applies. Torrified wood is more brittle, and it's also harder to get some lacquers to bond.
On the plus side for guitar manufacturers, it allows them to use soft maple, which is much cheaper than hard maple, and then sell it at a premium price for the cost of baking it.

After glueing more than a few les pauls back together. The last thing I'd want on my strat is a brittle neck

I myself don't like those. They just don't look right on a strat
