"Ride to Live, Live to Ride" - Twisted Sister. I remember the days with hair down to my shoulders, leather headband, aviator glasses, and the denim jacket (couldn't afford leather back then) with the Harley wings on the back. I would just cruise around on my 1973 purple metalflake H-D Sportster XLCH. Today my main (only) ride is a Volvo. >sigh<

I used to have long hair too, but these days I cut off an inch or so whenever it gets stuck in the belt, sun roof or bigsby.

PS: In keeping with the topic: I went from James Dean jackets, Brylcream ducktails and boogie cuts (opposite of today's undercut), motorcycle boots, to the mid 60s that made my beautiful feet what they are today - long skinny and pointed!

Gawd, I miss my motorcycle boots.

Hey. Steve. I don't know how or why it happens that way, but the young 'uns should know that there are some cool dudes behind the elderly. I was domesticated from a car that had been dropped 6 inches in the front and raised 6 inches in the back, and that was before my new 70s Charger. I had an uncle whom I didn't think was cool until my cousin showed me a photo of his elongated drag bike. So behind that pot belly, grey hair, walker and such may be a former leader of the pack.

After all tomorrow's cars may be driverless and the chopper of today may end up as an electric. On second thought cool is always going to be here and in the past. And that Volvo of yours, I too had one (turbo) only to find out that in Sweden it is said they brick them as high as 900 - 1000 horsepower!

Now hear this:

Pardon me for a quick off topic, but related to Steve's comment about losing the bike and getting a Volvo. There's still hope for you, Steve. I found that 1000 hp Volvo (not your Grannie's car):

Loved that GFR post SBLS. Very exotic. That was also a nice segue to what Stratmansteve had said earlier.

I wasn't going to post this song; but, I heard it on Radio Caroline today. If one of the world's historical pirate radio stations finds it good enough to play - it deserves a spot here. IMHO.

Dedicated to all the Michaels (and Mikes) on this Forum.

Truth be told I like my very safe turbo-charged Volvo S60 T5. I had too many close calls on bikes. It makes me wonder if I would still be here had I kept it much longer. Even so, I still miss it after all these years.

Sailcat performing "Motorcycle Mama" on American Bandstand from 1972. I never thought I'd ever hear this song again . . . and I wish I hadn't. Not all motorcycle songs sound like "Born to Be Wild".

Cool song. I don't know why, but it reminds me of a Vespa.

This one shouts Harley:
