Yay!!! My wife, my sister & brother-in-law, and I have tickets to see Joe Walsh here in Richmond, VA at the small outdoor pavilion called Innsbrook After Hours!!

http://innsbrookafterhours.com/concert-schedule/joe-walsh/

I can't wait to hear him rock out on his classic tunes from back in his James Gang days and current solo career, outside of The Eagles!

Yumpin' Yimminy! That's fantastic. I love Joe Walsh (not in the romantic way)! Hope the concert was great for you, Butch.

Saw him in May on the Left Coast on the joint tour with Bad Company; BC was enjoyable, but I thought that Walsh was much the better show. More challenging material for the audience too, with deep album cuts like "Mother Says", "Turn To Stone", and "The Bomber" as standouts. You'll have a great time!

hope you enjoy(ed) the show. I saw joe several times- always good.

first time I heard of him was with the james gang, when they opened up for Chicago at the old university of Toledo fieldhouse-probably 1970 or so. next time was about 2 years later at the agora as a solo act. I was very close to the stage, and was he loud

saw him a few times after that- always a great time.

Pretty cool. 8) I would have loved to have seen the James Gang back in the day, but I was a little kid. :P

I remember seeing The James Gang back in the day, sometime in mid 1969. The Jeff Beck Group was supposed to be the headliner, with Nazz as the opening act. However, JBG cancelled for some reason and they brought in Jimmy Fox, Dale Peters, and Joseph Walsh instead. Their first album "Yer Album" had just been released so they weren't totally unknown to the audience and they did not disappoint. They were America's first "power trio" and they blew the roof off of that auditorium.

Update: What a hell of a show!!! Man... I'll tell you... Joe Walsh is an amazing guitarist! He did everything from James Gang to Barnstorm to early solo work to The Eagles and back to solo work. Incredible show!!!

Here's a few photos that I tried to take (and some taken of me during the show!)

Enjoying a nice cold beverage before the show...

Joe Walsh during (I think) "Life In The Fast Lane" on a Strat.

Joe Walsh at the end with hit signature song "Rocky Mountain Way" on a Les Paul.

Lastly and rather hilarious... My wife and sister were cracking up at me playing "air guitar" so they snapped a photo of me in action!!

Walsh is one of the best! He's amongst my top favorites! Glad you had a great time at the show, in what looks like a nice venue.

LOL... Sorry... I let my face go for a few days and I get a ton of salt & pepper whiskers. Normally I don't look like that. Believe it or not, I can actually be clean cut and act "normal"!

Edit: Yeah, that outdoor pavilion "Innsbrook After Hours" is in the northwest suburb section of Richmond, VA right there near I-295 and I-64. It's right there at the end of the huge I.T. business complex of Innsbrook. Nuckols Rd & Cox Rd area, if you Google it on Google Maps. Packed in like sardines, it would hold maybe about 5000 people. I think it hit that, or went over capacity, back when Willie Nelson was on tour and decided on a whim to call a local country radio station and say, "What the hell... We have a day or two break from the road. Why not let us set up and surprise everyone with a concert at your venue?" Well, as you can guess, Innsbrook After Hours freaked out and scrambled to get everything set as Willie and his entourage pulled in in their big tour buses. It was a madhouse for hours and hours as everyone was fighting to get in! Word has it that our Henrico County Sheriff and other law enforcement officers politely told Willie "Don't do that again - give us at least a few weeks notice!".

Yeah Joe puts on one helluva show, I had the pleasure of working a few eagle shows, we needed to sub rent 4 per side Clair Brothers S4's,(The S4 included high frequency drivers from JBL (2 x 18-inch, 4 x 10-inch, 2 x 2-inch, and 2 x 2405) along with the system we had, as ours was just to weak for them
This is one big heavy piece of gear Image a bunch of stand up guys

Whenever I use to see a bicycle parked outside the bar, I always thought of the line "I lost my license, now I don't drive." :P
