I hope your Saturday is a memorable one whether you whoop it up or kick back and relax.

For me the day includes shoveling out what a front end loader dumped between the house and the street. I’m one of the lucky ones that gets snow clearing in the middle of the night. Sometimes, that turns to rock hard ice if you don’t get to it right away. With luck, the alley (which most of us have) will be clear . . . sometimes, if too is piled up. Ah, what would life be like if there wasn’t an adventure? :P
Have a good one,

FSB

Good morning FSB and Glenn. It was a long night. My son is now inpatient and it looks like he'll be there a day or two.

Sorry to hear that, Mark.

I'm having a crappy day.
I went a got sick.
I don't know if it's a bug or a bacteria but it's flu-like symptoms.
Sore throat, coughing, running nose, sneezing, gravelly voice that cracks.
Not good.
Pounding back the water, the oil of oregano and a fair amount of vitamin C and trying to rest warmly.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Thanks Matt.
I hope you shake that bug really fast. It sounds like you're doing good stuff to take care of yourself. Don't forget lots of rest!

Well, that’s not a great way to start off a Saturday, Mark, Paul, and Matt.:? I’m sending good vibes your way to help speed your recoverys.

The hospital is the best place for your son to get better, Marky. I wish him a short stay, a quick journey home, and for you to take time out.

Take care with that cold/flu, Paul and Matt. The flus on this side of the pond can be brutal and they often mutate making it difficult to control. Apparently, 50 varieties have been reported. Also, not wanting to tell anyone how to handle it, my experience this year can give you some thought. My doctor chewed me out for not going to the hospital days after coming down with it. He is a staff doctor at a hospital and said the hospital is better geared to identify and handle it before it gets to my stage. Not doing so can be difficult for the hospital and patient to combat once the damage is done. Without going into all the problems I’ve had (it ran the gamut) I can say my angina and current decreasing abdomen and chest issues would probably not have given me two separate bouts of antibiotics of which, as mentioned elsewhere, I am extremely limited to because of my allergies to penicillin and pain killers. That said my strength is slowly getting back; but, as I am not completely over it, I have to be prudent whether to go outside in below zero weather. I’ve had this since January 9th! Neighbours and others I know of have had it for an unusual lengthy time. Between becoming tired, and tired of home remedies and the professionals’ I manage to grab a beverage of choice as that is few and far between.
So, there ya go. I read that if you have it 3 to 5 days that sends a red flag to seek attention. I normally wouldn’t have thought that in the past, and I used to refrain from so much as an aspirin and being used to working under the weather 24/7 at times. I don’t know how I could have done that this time.

Even though my outlook is younger, age has some relationship, but with today’s flus my overall opinion has changed regardless of age.

So don’t under-estimate the professional help, Paul and Matt. It may be a pain; however, the alternative is worse. Hope you get better soon my friends.

I think a party is in the near future after this baloney.

Thank you, Marky. I’m working on it. I should know more by the end of the week.

Hey Paul. That wonderful time of the year, and the Florida Legislature wants to put FL on DST year round. They just can't leave anything alone. I was hoping they would've dropped it all together.
Good Morning!

Good Morning!

Yeah, I heard about that. They were talking about doing the same thing in Rhode Island, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that around here. I'd just wish they'd get rid of the whole damned thing and keep it one time frame.

Many of us complain erroneously about some cockamamie farmer in a wheat field that had a slow day to come up with this Daylight Savings idea. Actually, it was 1907 when William Willet of England wrote that we sleep while the sun shines thus missing the better part of the day. He did make brief mention of energy savings and Germany was quick to add DST in 1916 for that purpose to support the World War 1 effort. Aha! That old timer on the tractor difn’t come up with the idea. :P
DST dulled my morning trek when I worked. Unless you’re a golfer, or walking the dogs, when retired Daylight Savings may matter less. Better for fishing though.YMMV

Here in North America (whether DST or not) the time zones are by the hour. Australia has multiple zones with hour, half hour, and quarter hour differences. Daylight Savings does not affect all states.

Morning or afternoon? No wonder the Aussies say “G’Day!” 8)

Whatever the case have a good one.

Good morning.

As you probably know, Arizona doesn't do DST but I remember those days well when I lived elsewhere. Having to go around the house and cars changing the time. It seems like everything has a clock in it too, even house thermostats.

You know, if I were to travel to Arizona, which is probably 3 hours behind where I live, technically I'd be traveling back in time. I guess that doesn't work that way, though, does it? :P

Well, perhaps, we could simplify the time zone by giving the world one time zone. We could make it, for example, 12 noon everywhere at the same time. True, it would be bright and sunny in one area while dark like night elsewhere. So what? We have that now. We then change when to show up for school or work, etc. as needed. Instead of worrying what time to do business according to one’s business elsewhere we would use our time accordingly. No matter how we work it . . . we all spend our light part and dark part of the day the same.

The problem is - “Who gets to have 12 noon to suit them?”

Ah, fuggedabout it. I haven’t got the time for this Tom foolery.
FSB

Hmm. Maybe a uniform time is not as crazy as it appears. As interplanetary travel evolves with multiple planets and moons will Standard time and Daylight Savings be relevant?

 I'm not an expert on time travel but I think you're right, it doesn't work that way.
