Good morning, all.

I'm glad you liked the pictures, FSB, but I didn't take them. I may have gotten them from my local newspaper, but I'm not sure. Whoever took the pictures wrote that the bobcat was chased by a mountain lion. We encountered a bobcat only one time while walking our dogs. The dogs went nuts and the bobcat froze for a second and then ran away. Bobcats are small but I wouldn't let my dogs tangle with one.

We saw a mountain lion, in the wild, one time too but it was much further away. It was about 300 yards from us and that was way too close for me. It could cover that distance in a heartbeat so we were the ones who went the other way that time. I didn't take this picture but they are beautiful animals.

Good Morning, Lizards.

Thanks, for your reply, Marky. You are right to have vacated the area, and very lucky to have seen one of the big cats. They are not cute, they are majestic, and they are a dangerous cunning lion. My old home has an estimated 500 to 1,000 cougars (estimates are hard to keep up with any accuracy). What is known is they have the highest concentration in the world on that island, and yet I’ve never seen one in the wild and I spent a lot of time outdoors and in the backwoods with it’s thick rain forest. These kitties are known to explore the beaches and visit towns regularly. The closest I ever got to one was seeing a cone of twigs and grass over it’s fresh feces on a trail. They’re shy and don’t like anybody or anything checking out their business. Maybe, they think they won’t he discovered. In my case, thankfully, they are correct in that assumption. :D

FSB, my sighting was about 15 years ago when we lived next to Sabino Canyon just north of Tucson. The canyon has a year-round water supply so we had a lot more critters down there. Here it's mostly the smaller variety of snakes and scorpions. Mostly scorpions, no big deal.

I dunno. Scorpions and sneaky snakes aren’t my thing; although, we used to have fun with garter snakes as a kid. Not so much fun now.
I have a crazy question for ya, Marky. Once the sting has been removed from a scorpion, can you eat ‘em like a craw dad?

Not that I’m placing an order.

Yes, you can and my son has a friend who tried eating one live, once. I guess it was pretty gross but he chewed it up and swallowed it. It's something I wouldn't try. I'll stick to my ice cream. :)

Live? Sounds like Fear Factor. Ice cream gets my vote; but, crispy scorpions with hot sauce sounds like a fast food opportunity.
