Good Morning.

Woke up to noise outside, looked out the window to see my front yard and boulevard sidewalk shoveled, and there was my better half finishing the backyard. She calls it exercise.

Looks like we had quite the snowfall last night, and we’re expecting more, but less, this evening. I have a wife, good as she is, that is stubborn and impatient, but mostly stubborn. So, I go out and take over to find that the neighbour and his snow blower did the front yard. It seems getting up early is no assurance that I can get in my exercise and work. I’d get hired help, but that is iffy at best, especially when it really dumps, and things are difficult with a locked up enclosed driveway and yard, plus the fact that most of the city has back alleys to help and hinder snow clearing.

Yeah, I’m spoiled. :P

When you live on the west coast you see ads “Looking for girl to have good to times with. Must have boat.”. In Winnipeg it’s “Looking for girl to have good to times with. Must have shovel”. Ka-Ching!

Top of the morning to ya Marky, Mike, Glenn, and all ye Lizards of the Forum.

The strangest thing happened last night when Safari quit (first for me) on all the hardware. After trying to troubleshoot with the typical server down alert, I’ve yet to discover the cause now that it’s back up and running from hours of being kaput! Didn’t get to check out the PC, but I did restart the modem with no change.

Probably not a biggie, but the Gateway (cable box) for the TV crapped out too pretty much at the same time. I still had email though. It could be coincidental as the cable company is messing around with some changeovers. Still, no complaints found as of yet on the Net. I did find suspicious related web sites that look like scams or a place I didn’t want to go to, however.

Time to grab a coffee and think about it.

Have a great day! :D

Woke up to the sound of backup alarms incessantly making an annoying beep. This time of year it means a front end loader usually plowing or dumping snow on or near the property blocking the entrance shin high to tne driveway that leads to a lane in the back and a walkway in the front. It is one of those things Winnipegers are so cheerful about, especially if it freezes before getting it shoveled. This sometimes happens if it is left overnight or coming home late. I picked up an ice pick to rectify that even though, with luck, it may never get used. Ya never know about those things.

One thing we pride ourselves with in the flat prairies under the big sky is, “It’s sunny though”, and in warmer downtown high rise amongst the mountains Vancouver it’s, “But, I can’t see the moon”. OMG. I’ve become a prairie dog!
Have a great Wednesday. :D

Good Morning ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, and all ye Lizards of the Forum.

Yesterday, the snowplows blocked our front walkway with snow, dirt, and ice by about 3 feet high and wide and 6 feet deep. It required a minor amount of ice chopping and snow removal.

By the time that was done, I tackled the back driveway that had been blocked in by the front end loader. It was about 2 feet high, 3 feet deep, and 20 feet wide of snow which had frozen to complete ice. :? This took some time to chip and scrape away. A daunting task. It was the first time that I ever used an ice pick/scraper to do the job. This one has a flat blade that could be used to make an igloo like an ulu. The good part was that I discovered it to be spring loaded which was a good thing since my right arm has yet to heal from injury. Anyhow, I put on a pair of Bluetooth headphones to keep my ears warm and to keep me from thinking about it, and it keeps me from hearing worrisome Mrs. FSB from calling me back into the house. :P
If I get too much exercise with that $&@#%*! snowplow this winter, I’ll have arms like Popeye.

That was yesterday, so I’m looking forward to a great day for me, after a regular dental checkup, and you have a terrific day too. :D
