Hey Paul, looks like I missed your birthday, too. Sorry about that. Happy Belated Birthday, I hope it was a great one!

Thanks. It was pretty good. The funny thing is that I don’t feel any different than I was 46, but maybe when I hit 50 I’ll freak out. :P

I'm glad you had a pretty good day. 50 was a big one for me. 60 was no big deal. :)

Good Wednesday gang. Make it a great one and enjoy. :D

A belated birthday, Paul. Sorry that I didn’t get it to you on your special day. It carries the same wishes today, and I hope you had a great one.

Thanks. It wasn’t a bad day, since I did go out to see a gig in New Hampshire of all of the strange places.

You know, the best discount that I ever got was when I was briefly in a band with this guy that worked at a music store about 25 years ago, and I could buy gear at his cost, which was a hell of a lot cheaper than you typically get it for.
That sounds like a lot of fun and I’m glad you had the chance to celebrate, Slim. :D
That’s the kind of discount that’s always good to have. I used to get a 10% discount at my favourite music store, but then they moved to a new bigger complex, basically dropped any added discount, and went the new car route with one price promoted as the lowest. But, deals are always had and they give you huge discounts across the board, especially with limited monthly newsletter deals for subscribers.

Because of a 24/7 job and no family around, missing holidays and lacking celebrations were, aside from phone calls, pretty much routine. I kept 50 to myself. Not wanting a fuss . . . well, that didn’t work. A couple of weeks later I caught the flu. With a fever, I was woken by getting dragged out of bed, and ended up having a surprise packed party across the hall in a 100 year old quadriplex that we shared with our best friends. My friends didn't care if I was contagious. That’s friendship. It was a struggle, but a great time was had by all. The 65th brought me a Strat, in-laws and friends; but, since then (Marky cough) the great Lizards here have brought me some well appreciated wishes (after my tough year getting to it). I think those missed birthdays have been more than made up.

Cheers!

Back at ya, Paul, and a Happy Thursday all.

Yumpin’ Yiminy. Four more days till Santa takes flight. The North Pole (not the one in Alaska) is for the moment, not owned by any country; but, claims are under scrutiny. I’m pretty sure Santa is Canadian because he survives in 40 below, carries a beer belly, occasionally drinks American coke, and like the rest of the Canucks he wears a toque, and after work he becomes a Snowbird and heads south. Who else does that? That’s a dead giveaway. eh? Hohohho.
Merry Christmas.

Sounds like a pretty nice day you’re having ABS. I woke up to light powder falling from the sky as well. We are expecting only a few manageable inches. Ir’s sure Chrismassy. :D I’ve been very busy juggling family obligations both here, and half a country away; but, today I’ll.try to find some time to kick back before putting the nose back to the grinder.

Being a kid and making angels in the snow seems so long ago, Snow forts, snowmen, and snowball fights seem to be fading or non-existent. Do they even do that anymore, or is it now becoming just an indoor video game? At least, winter brings international ice sculptures, and a snow and ice built restaurant on the frozen river to this city. :D
Have a great day and wonderful Christmas ABS, and all.

FSB, I hear you my friend! Those days of our youth were amazing! I always lived this time of year as a kid.
Now as an adult I enjoy the quiet comfort of watching the snow fall gently on my woods.
I really treasure days when I can sit with a cup of coffee and play one of my Fenders while watching the snow fall. I get to just forget the worries of the day and dream!
I wish you and your family a wonderful Christmas and a New Year filled with good health, peace and love.

Thank you, ABS. You are so right. Winter is like life. It can bring misery and beauty together, and is given to us to behold. What better way than with music, family, and friends. Still, the quiet enjoyment can bring peace. I sure know that, having lived in the country, and now in the big concrete jungle, presently in a mall. On that note, you haven’t lived until you’ve slid down a snow run, over a hill and bump that tosses your bones off the toboggan in a spiral out over the white powder where you come to an abrupt halt on the ice pack (if you don’t hit a tree) where you’ll be treated to aches and pains, maybe a sliver or two from that old sled. that will last into next week. The satisfaction is getting a high score from the judges. No Olympic qualification here. Tip: A lot of hollerin’ as you fly past and wimpering afterwards helps to rack up the points,
Whether with noise to stir the senses or quiet to reflect on that around you, I wish 2019 peace for all. You make a difference.
