Good Morning fellas, gals, and kids.

It really is a great morning. Today I won a contest with odds of over a billion to one. They want to come to my house to deliver the moola. Pretty good since I didn’t enter anything. The older lady said “Alright?” several times and “Bless You”. That was nice. Made me feel like it was a long lost friend from Pensacola, Florida where I found aliases that match the name, a rap sheet that matched the aliases, and then I became depressed knowing there wouldn’t be a $2 million Publishers Clearing House check under the Christmas tree this year (sorry music store). In fact, after checking this past year’s winners’ list, I found nobody on this side of the border under state/province.

It’s good to be a senior. So much free entertainment.

Your check’s in the mail. Have a good one. :D

Does Canada have their own version of AARP (American Association of Retired Persons,) or things like and for senior discounts? I tell you if I reach 55, I'm going to be hitting that stuff up. Why not? I just turned 47 on December 1st, so I don't have too far off to go. :P

A belated birthday, Paul. Sorry that I didn’t get it to you on your special day. It carries the same wishes today, and I hope you had a great one,

There is a Canadian Association of Retired Persons (Carp) fashioned after AARP; but, not without controversy, it is pale in comparison considering the USA has well over 325 million people (many of whom are seniors or about to be). It doesn’t mount to much if anything here and CARP generally goes by unnoticed. Grocery chains usually have one day a week or month to get a discount. We never seem to hit it right. We forget about it, don’t know about it, or stumble upon it. Then, like many discounts, as far as quotes go, the discount gets added with a price inflation. Not always, but sometimes IMHO. Still any discount is a welcomed offer. As a kid I got a discount at the candy store because the owner’s wife took a liking to me, so, obviously, youth had it’s perks too . :D

I’m on the hit list I guess. Pretty soon, with all the scams coming my way. I’ll have heard just about every one . My answering machine works overtime, and the blocks on my phone(s) are at their limit. So we just take everything in stride, and thank our lucky stars we didn’t get off the boat yesterday; but, they are pretty inventive and never say never. I once had my PC scroll data over my desktop until I pulled the plug and no sensitive info (that I know of) was passed. I stopped being concerned since it’s what you aren’t aware of that lurks in the shadows, and you never know what you’ll wake to after a good sleep.
Just the fact that my PC functions without a blue screen or worse makes for a good day, Although, I could do with a paid vacation or a windfall from these morons. :P

.

Thanks. It wasn’t a bad day, since I did go out to see a gig in New Hampshire of all of the strange places. It was a city on the border of Massachusetts, so it wasn’t that much further than when we go to Boston, which is typically an hour and a half or more, depending on how bad the traffic is. I thought the place in New Hampshire was going to be in the boonies, since that’s how I always imagined New Hampshire just being, but there was a lot around there. It was a pretty cool place. I wouldn’t mind playing a gig there, myself. I suppose the further up north that you went there, there is more of the boonies that I imagined, but then again, there are a lot of places in Rhode Island that are like that.

You know, the best discount that I ever got was when I was briefly in a band with this guy that worked at a music store about 25 years ago, and I could buy gear at his cost, which was a hell of a lot cheaper than you typically get it for.

Thanks. It was pretty good. The funny thing is that I don’t feel any different than I was 46, but maybe when I hit 50 I’ll freak out. :P
