Another jazzy theme - Route 66.

Great choice and song. I've heard many renditions of it.

Even as a young kid (pre-guitar days) I liked the jazz styled themes.

Last night we were watching "Law and Order" and I noticed that the theme song was kind of cool.

A sample starts at about the 0:20 mark -

Hello Miami and All,

Here's a hokey little theme
along with an entire episode of
"Diver Dan"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MI8dpruK ... re=related

This early 60's show was only in the Northeast United States
so I enclosed the link to an entire episode.
The show was shot through an aquarium to give
the appearance of being underwater

Cryingstrat do you remember this old favorite?

Cheers.

Secret Agent -- Johnny Rivers

Also, when I got my first and only bass, I learned the riff at the beginning of Barney Miller.

My favorite too, and one of the first songs I ever learned. In specific, I go for the original, as used in (US) season 1. Rivers was forced to re-record with an orchestra and the guitar part seriously toned down for season 2.

Patrick McGoohan originated the role on "Danger Man" with the very classical theme song "High Wire" and he freaked when he learned what the US network was going to use for the US production. But it was too late in that the song itself had already become a hit. However, the producers did bow to his rants with the greatly toned down version for seasons 2 and 3.

or if you were a kid growing up like me in the Chicagoland area watching the old shows on WGN:
The Cisco Kid:

People have mentioned a few of my favorites: Spiderman, Speed Racer, What's Happening (written by Henry Mancini), Prisoner, Benny Hill, Monty Python, Dukes Of Hazzard, Rawhide.

But I'll mention three that were my favorites:
Hardcastle And McCormick:
