A few months ago we named some favorite movie soundtracks, so how about naming some of your favorite TV show theme songs ?

Three of them come to mind right now -

Sanford and Son (Quincy Jones)
Hill Street Blues (Mike Post)
The Drew Carey Show (the series with the Ian Hunter tune, Cleveland Rocks, covered by The Presidents of the United States).

Let 'em rip... 8)

Hawaii Five-O - written by Morton Stevens, done by the Paramount Studio Orchestra, but best remembered as being done by The Ventures.

The Peter Gunn Theme - written by Henry Mancini, done by The Henry Mancini Orchestra, and covered by any number of folks.

Good ones, giljanus. I just wanted to add that although we put the artist's name, it's not necessary. Just naming the show is fine.

I guess we could say that cartoons (or is it car-tunes  ) can count too.

The Simpsons theme and The Hellecasters version of Inspector Gadget are two favorites.

Thanks. Hope you are feeling better.

And here's some more:

Twin Peaks - main theme by Angelo Badalamenti.

Mike Hammer Theme (Harlem Nocturne) - written by the late Earle Hagen.

Miami Vice - written and performed by Jan Hammer.

liveatsix, that's a great theme song. I've seen the show a few times and recall that I've always liked that one too.

It seems that a few others have too 8)
