Here's one way to do it (there may very well be more efficient ways)....

1. Download and install Mozilla's Firefox browser (if necessary): Link

2. Install this (free) Firefox add-on for downloading YouTube videos: Link

3. Download the video to your computer using the Firefox add-on

4. Install Audacity (if necessary): Link

5. Open Audacity.

6. In Audacity, click the File menu and select Import ==> Audio....

7. Browse to and open the video file your downloaded

8. Once the audio from the file is imported into Audacity, click the File menu and select Export...

9. Make sure Save as type: WAV (Microsoft) signed 16 bit PCM is selected

10. Save the file

11. **Repeat the process with any other tracks you want to download for your CD**

12. When you're ready, burn the WAV files onto a CD-R (NOT CD-RW!)

NOTE: The files can not exceed the available write space on the disk (usually between 650 and 800MB)ImageThe CD should play in your average CD player.

I do sort of what strings10927 does with backing tracks, You Tube, Audacity, etc...

I find a great video of a karaoke backing track or instrumental backing.
I plug in a 1/8" stereo cable, and simply chain it from the headphone (out) jack to the microphone jack (in) on my laptop.
I open up audacity and click record.
I quickly play the You Tube video, and toggle the window back to Audacity and monitor the progress.
After the recording, I go into Audacity, edit the recording (snipping out dead air), and save it as an MP3 file.
After collecting a bunch of them, I burn them to CD.
My stereo can also play MP3's and my new Pioneer stereo in my truck can play anything.

It works!

I use Audacity for capturing online streaming too. There are some other
programs available as well :
