Thanks, for The Surfrajettes. I like this band, and it’s my first time to hear this Toxic song, not being a Britney Spears fan, but this version transfers well to Surf IMHO.

The strange part about it is who would think to find an all girl surf band from Canada, especially from central Canada, and in these days with pop music being what it is?

Surf music has never been popular here in the flatlands, but, having grown up with Pacific beach sand in my shorts, I keep on playing it, and pushing it with an obligation to educate and inform the ill informed and musically deprived. :P Maybe, our large Filipino community will step to the plate; but, it’s a tough call with rap and pop.

I think it’s great that veterans, the Surfrajettes, and others enjoy the vibe and keep the genre alive. A little look around will reveal that not only has it survived; but, in new forms by some great groups Surf thrives. 8)
We owe a respect to Surf music, because history shows that Surf has contributed gear wise and creatively to the evolution of Rock.

Thanks, for the thread Rollie. You’re doing your part. Kowabunga. :D

The Brittney Spears song is aptly named since it makes me sick every time I hear it.

It's kinda funny that The Trashmen who did Surfin' Bird were from Minnesota.
