⬆︎ He's a pretty good picker and I always got along fairly well with him but it was pretty clear he did not play nice in the sandbox with everyone.
He had friction with a number of members.
The way in which he left, too. That was odd.

Yes, we did have our issues here for a while and it seems significantly less volatile around here now.
On the other hand it's not as busy, either.
One thing the problem children do is to keep the place stirring.

here is a Frank response to a video posted on the surf music thread
Frank has a way with words
"Well the thread title says it all. She's an average guitar player doing an uninspired cover of a tune that's been played by far too many unimaginative bar bands. But she's an attractive woman so everyone likes her video.

Take away the very ordinary music and playing and this thread is just saying "look at this woman".

Which is kinda pathetic really."

God I really miss Martian (Roy). When I heard he'd died I literally cried. Such an insightful fella.
KC Fireball too, never understood why I got on with him. He should have been the embodiment of everything I don't like. But he was the nicest chap. Just goes to show that you need to scratch below the surface. Saw a video of him once, Fireball was the right name for him. That bloke was an exciting player very very rhythmic orientated solos that kept me listening. I remember being really impressed at how the military tried to look after him when he found he was ill. The British army just don't seem interested unless you're on the current cannon fodder roll. Judging the amount of ex servicemen living homeless here.

Adey and Snowy have gone too...

Ah, yes-Martian. Never one to miss YMMV.

Snowy- always informative, and entertaining for sure.

Peace to all.

I vote for no more patrons dying for a few years.
We might not survive Keith Richards, but a few more years without losses would be nice.

Even to this day I find myself waiting to hear his wisdom when a pup question comes up.
Then I think to myself, "Oh yah. Right. He's gone."
He was such a positive contributor and, as I understand it, a really decent human bean.

(heavy sigh ...)

Human Bean???

Sorry mate, I couldn't resist.
(trying to battle gloom with laughter)

Yep Roy was great. And he wouldn't hold back information. If he knew it to be right, he had no problem sharing it freely. He learnt a lot from Larry Dimarzio. Now that company wrote the book on replacement parts as far as I'm concerned.

Remember when he had to sell up to pay bills (I think it was medical bills and he knew without telling us what it was). So loads of members clubbed together and got him the bits to make his dream strat?
I hope he knew people cared about him.
