very clever disguise GIB. it so happens that tennis elbow was my excuse when wanting my girlfriends help, (pardon) playing guitar. good to see your post.

Cortisone injections at the site of inflammation. They work.

0uch! Cortisone, does work (as Arjay said), and it helps many people every day; but, there can be some downsides which are easily found on the Net. I'm a wuss (not really), and the fact that some injection experienced pro athletes that I knew talked me out of Cortisone, this is the route I took years ago, and I still use this occasionally, but almost never today, and it too can do the trick. Look for the hard/soft brace as mentioned here. Having used a variety, I recommend the hard/soft brace as a better solution. YMMV.

Ironic, just last month i was suffering from guitar elbow and i couldnt play tennis! :D :D
But seriously, i've seen cortisone shots work wonders and i've seen those braces work as well. Both excellent suggestions.

LMFAO

I had my elbow injected yesterday.

Tomorrow I'll be ready to juggle a couple of Twin Reverbs.

Not knowing your age or medical condition I would recommend a chat w/ your doctor.
I will swear by Celebrex, my preferred ongoing joint remedy and I haven't had a bad joint in while or a bad whiskey for that matter.
I have had success with the shots x3 in my shoulders and partial success in my hand x2. Done PT, physical therapy with minor improvements. The shots are fairly quick acting and the success or failure is almost immediate, within a 24-48 hr time frame. My right shoulder was locked w/ about 30-40% range of motion and took a second shot. Don't put off pain, it aint' natural.
If you don't play tennis, I wouldn't recommend a sports brace.
I'd also guess your playin guitar seated, keeping the neck & headstock up a little higher than your used to may help.
