I tell you, 2016 has been a suck fest. Hopefully, 2017 will be a little bit better at least.

+1 on that, Mike.

Mud, your link to Sharon's website revealed some great videos that I really enjoyed. I thought her animated Retreat video rocked as does her band. If one hasn't checked it out, do yourself a favour and take a look.

Thanks, and peace be with you, Miss Jones.

Mike thanks, that's why I included it to my post, She and The Dap-Kings were quite an act IMO, just so sad

Sadly, here's another one: Inspiral Carpets drummer Craig Gill Dies At 44 http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-manchester-38066578 That was one of the bands from my late teens/early 20's that I like. RIP, Craig. :( Hell, he was my age.

Oh so sad :( . He was one of the greats, I am blessed with the memory of having seen and worked with him during the Emerson, Lake & Powell tour of 1985.
Now all deceased :(
Keith Emerson – keyboards (1985-1986, died 2016)
Greg Lake – bass, guitar, vocals, production (1985-1986, died 2016)
Cozy Powell – drums, percussion (1985-1986, died 1998)

I had just read an interview with him in the last issue of Bass Player magazine. He also played with King Crimson early on. RIP, Greg. :(

Greg Lake was born in 1947 - the same year as me. The Big Kahuna blessed him with amazing talent that passed me by. I'm okay with that because he wrote "Lucky Man" at the age of 12, and my mind was elsewhere at that age.

That was the start of something much bigger for us to enjoy. Missed but not forgotten, may the music always travel with you in spirit, Greg.

Beautiful post FSB. I will miss his great talent as well.
There is a photo of my ticket when I saw ELP on my FB page.

It's not going to let anyone get away. The players get older, and time marches on.

Yeah, if you want a steady gig, be an undertaker. Never run out of work.

It would be great if undertakers had to give up their job because of a lack of clients.

I don't think so. First of all, Earth would fill up, and Malthusian scenarios would not be pretty. And until that hits, the youth would be surrounded by more and more of us old ones. *shudder*

We're built to die. When we no longer contribute more to our offspring or humanity as a whole than we compete with them for resources, it's better down the history line if we die.

Yeah, it's sad to see it as it happens. But most of the musicians dying now had their productive years far behind them. Their music lives on, and they become legends that new generations of musicians can build on.
The world is a better place because they lived; not a worse place because they died.

Well said, arth1. 2016 brought that message home several times to my family this year.

Still, life's song is a work that will never be completed with a sustaining note of memories to grab and enjoy forever.
