I think we are in the early stages of an avalanche.
It's the beginning of the end of an era.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

And unfortunately, it's absolutely inevitable.

With the internet, we're able to get the bad news out quicker. And to more people too. It's a shame, time get's everybody, but the music lives on.

Thanks to Lightnin Mn for 'adding to', especially one of my favorite old R&B songs "Me and Mrs. Jones" by Billy Paul.

Are those bands, or the cause of death?

There was Lemmy, but he died in late December of 2015.

Sad but not surprising ... a lot of these artists fall right in the Baby Boom range. Yet just read about an Italian woman who hit 116 -- believed to be the last person born in the 1800s still alive. Wonder if ol' Keith will still be around when Buck Rogers flies for real :)

More 2016 losses for your list, Mike.

R.I.P.:

Troy Shondell (aka Gary Schelton) (76) Jan 7 - Singer, musician of multiple instruments, and songwriter for whom Tommy Jackson (aka Tommy James) idolized and named the Shondells as his band.

Otis Clay (73) Jan 8 - Blues Hall Of Fame singer.

Sonny James (aka James Hugh Loden) (87) Feb 22 - Country Music Hall Of Fame, Co-host of first Country Music Association Awards Show 1967, and 21 top ten Country albums!

Lennie "Blue Moon" Baker (69) Feb 24 - Sax player and singer for Sha Na Na, and previously for Danny and The Juniors.

Remo Belli (89) April 25 - American jazz drummer, and inventor of the first Mylar drum head Remo Weather King, and owner of the store Drum City. The rest is history.

That's enough talent for a Revival compilation album. :D
