How's everyone doing. I'm thinking about getting a fender when I get back form this depoyment I am on. I started to learn to play guitar a few months ago and I have a Dean acoustic right now. I listen to alot of Metal but I also love SRV. Any advice on what kind of fender I should look into getting when I get back? Thanks.

Hello Loftinkt,

Well if you have a grand get the
American Sandard Stratocaster.

There are many other choices,
more and less costly.
Play many, choose your favorite.

Welcome home and to this forum.

Cheers.

I agree with Bill get a American Standard Stratocaster or a American Standard Telecaster!

Welcome to the Forum

Personally I would wait to get back to the World and go to some music stores and try out some different guitars. Find the one that speaks to you.

Go try out an HSS model, that way you can have the humbucker in the bridge for rhythm crunch,
and the single-coil in the neck for sweet, SRV-esque tones.

I don't think anyone can really recommend a guitar for someone else to buy. You can give people an idea of what to try, but what sounds good to one person, doesn't sound good to someone else. Since it's you're money you're spending......you should try some that people think are good guitars, as well, as many others in a music shop to see what sounds and feels good to YOU.
