This is another sad one :(
If I am not mistaken was it not because of his song "Wham!" the tremolo on the guitar was nick named Whammy Bar, or it could be one of those false things I have learned and thought true

Man, that's too bad! :( For some reason, whenever I listen to "Roadhouse Blues," I always think of him. He did play bass on the track, though. Maybe it was reading about the misconception he played lead on it, or it sounded like Jim said "Do it, Lonnie, do it!" It was actually "Do it, Robbie, do it!" He also played bass on "Maggie M'Gill," which I have to say is one of my favorite Doors tracks. RIP, Lonnie Mack :(
