Nothing Compares 2U. Thanks for the post, ghost_of_strings. Is it Purple Rain? Nope! But, dynamite concept and explosive execution. I liked it. YMMV.

I am going to Paisley Park on June 7th (ironically, that is his birthday), plus we are going to see the Minnesota Twins the next night as it is Prince night (along with other non-Prince stuff too on this Minnesota vacation). Paisley Park is VERY MUCH on the bucket list of my wife who is a HUGE fan of the purple one -- she had a 3-month long and very stressful cancer scare, so she has earned it.

For the Minnesota Twins Prince night, we will be getting a Prince lighted inflatable guitar and a Twins Prince hat:

Hope all is well with your wife, and that you both have a great time with your Prince festivities. Looks to be a blast.

PS: How’s the tone on that inflatable guitar?

To PaulLF and Fender Strat Brat: All is good now. And your kind thoughts are appreciated much more than you might think. Thank you.

Thanks, for the update, ghost_of_strings. I think we could see that coming.

It should be an interesting outcome. The opioid problem is rightfully front page news, and even a smidge of guilt has the potential to be a heavy penalty. This lawsuit could have some influence with future similar cases in LaLa Land (and elsewhere); although, I doubt it, since some states are not on the same planet when it comes to civil suits.

FYI:
Canadian common law is practiced in Quebec as is done elsewhere for public, criminal, and other federal law. However, unlike the other provinces, Quebec uses French-heritage civil law.

It really does make a difference where the trial is held, on both sides of the border.

Depends how informed you are.

True, Ghost. The reports can be confusing, misleading, incorrect. or incomplete. I’ve worked in newsrooms for almost half of my life, took 2 years of journalism in high school, and I shake my head when I see a newscaster present an old story as a new discovery. The Net is worse, because dating a story is often related to the current publishing and not the original one. Consequently, a gap in reporting can give false or outdated or no longer relevant impressions.

Add to that a history of coverups in the entertainment (and political) world, and the true story can be hidden as we see on a regular basis. I could expand on the money exchanges for a story, but I’ll leave you with this:

Here is what we do know, and the information had been available for some time:

April 21st, 2016. Prince died.

April 28th appears to be the date of AIDS being the cause of death reported in the rags Hollywood Life, and The National Enquirer. Nuff said. However, that doesn't rule it out on April 28th.

Almost 2 years later from that announcement (your post/link): https://www-m.cnn.com/2018/04/19/us/pri ... index.html

That report showed a Civil lawsuit settled out of court with Minnesota physician Dr. Michael Schulenberg. The seeds are planted that there was a question that drugs could be the cause instead of AIDS; although, the drug argument not showing a criminal cause nor a civil ruling of guilt.

Now, as you posted, the drug civil suit comes back in another more expanded form filed August 24, 2018.

This supports it. Filed June 2, 2016:

http://tmz.vo.llnwd.net/o28/newsdesk/tm ... ate-02.pdf

Note:
Death certificate stated:
Cause of Death: Fentanyl Toxicity
Manner Of Death: Accident

No official mention or any other (AFAIK) official confirmation of Aids. At least not as a cause of death. In journalism that is known as heresay.

Sadly, heresay is a trend in news circles today. It sells copy, but does little else for verification. IMHO. If the public accepts it, that’s the dope that we will get from the pushers, and it looks like that’s okay for today’s news junkies.

Thanks again ghost_of_strings for bringing the new Prince lawsuit to our attention and to this thread. We should learn more from the court as it relates here.
