That was also the classic Greek view: that the world went through endless cycles, each more or less the same as the last. Everything that ever happens already happened (or at least more or less) endless times before.

I read years ago that Jimmy Page asked Randy California if it was ok to borrow the opening part of that song and rework it. Randy said fine. At the time Zeppelin were supporting Spirit.
Love 'n peace was still around then and I believe Randy was a chilled out person.
Let's hear it for his Kahuna Dream album - he played guitar beautifully!

I finally caved and listened to "Taurus". I kept listening and listening. Then it was over. It never went anywhere. I really wanted to hear the crass similarity, but was very disappointed. It's just not there. Good grief. Let's see, The Beach Boys' "Fun, Fun, Fun" kinda sounds a little like Chuck Berry's work. Maybe Spirit et al can pinch a few dollars.

Being a long time Spirit listener, it has some similar sound to it, but what songs don't resemble so many other songs.
