I hear ya. Try the new American Standards and you will be even more amazed. Im 55 and switched over this Feb. I basically thought the same thing. I didnt play an SG but I did own and play a 1980's Les Paul Deluxe, bunches of el cheapo Japanese electrics and to many acoustics to count. I always wanted a Mosrite but never could see paying the money. One day I was convinced to try an American Standard and it was all over LOL!! By the way I had what must have been a Monday Les Paul. I eventually just gave it away.

Yep, enjoy it.

I own a MIA Lone Star Strat from 97 and my new baby a MIM Classic Player 60.

If you have one...some time you have the next one...?

Cheers :D

It's not how long it took you to see the light. It's all about the fact that you got to see the light. Welcome to the club!

I'm old enough to know better, but young enough to do it anyway  and I've always preferred Fender guitars. I've had other guitars, but always found that Fenders were more durable and sounded great. 8)

You can never have too many different brands of guitars. But glad you finally tried a Fender and added it to your roster. I've play several brands, but I keep coming back to Fender.

Something about their versatility.

I bought a MIM Strat and I now play it more than my vintage Gibson. Sounds beautiful, but the only thing thats lacking is the sustain. But I guess thats what you get with bolt-on necks, huh?

Hey, nice to see a resident of Hawai'i on here, how's the vog on Oahu lately? (I've been to Kona a couple times, looking to move there one day)

Glad you found fender! But if you're not going to be using your SGs feel free to send them this way ;)

One day I may own a Strat, I wouldn't mind. :D
I like Strats.

But I went more in the humbucker direction, and I don't use vibrato/tremolo/whammy/whatever you want to call it a lot.

Still my Mustang is a beautiful thing, and I love it.
In some ways it's a mini-Strat, but it is more than that--it is its own guitar in its own right. I wouldn't give it up without a fight.
