I just bought a Schecter C-1 Blackjack ATX. It's an amazing guitar I love it. Great feel and it is surprisingly light.

Now for some pics.... (sorry I am not a great photogropher)

So which of those bad boys is your number one?

What are the strong points of each?

I am still trying to decide. For distorted tone, the schecter definitely wins. It also has nice cleans, but I like the neck pick up of the Strat better for the cleans. It just has a certain tone that is really unattainable by any other guitar. I have a SD SH-6 Distortion in the Bridge on the Strat, and imo those have the best output for a passive pick up, so if I ever need a quick transition from distorted to clean, I will probably be using my strat, but if I need straight up distortion all the way through a song, the Schecter will take it.

Well I have already gone over about the pick ups, but with the Schecter the things I like are: It's really really light, and very comfortable standing or sitting, it's got a fixed bridge, so while it limits some, it has amazing sustain, and stays in tune very well. The tuners on this guitar are really nice, it has a gloss neck, and I personally find those very nice to play on, and I really like the attack that the ebony fret board gives.

With the Fender: I have a high output pick up in addition to the Fender single coils, so it makes for an extremely versatile guitar, its got a trem thats easy to use and doesn't make things difficult like a Floyd Rose does, overall it has a really nice feel.

Just now I am finally getting around to writing my own stuff. At the current time though unfortunately, I have no recording gear, so I can't really capture anything I have (cover or original)
