Right on. Lighting laws are krazy at times. I don't know how it is today; but, it used to be that you could take a ferry to the European mainland (or maybe it was from the mainland, I'm too old to recall) and, right at the ferry landing, amber, rather than clear, fog lights were required and those amber covers (or lights) were, reputedly, I was told, snapped on or put on like a cash grab.
Back in the day . . . a cool effect was to have custom or name covers (like smiley faces, colours, or stock like KC or others) on your lights, with a preset dimmer, and considerations for ventilation to prevent overheated vinyl. Today, with all the variety of lights available, some being LEDs, this dimming feature might not be achievable; however, other benefits are obvious. Of course, for those who would rather be truck'n rather than customizing on the weekend, plain vanilla does the trick too.

Well, I wired up the lights and they work beautifully.

Been my DD for the past few weeks and I can say I love it. I average about 10/11MPG and that'll go up when I fix the vacuum leak and put on my cold air intake. I'm weighing the options between a Spectre kit and a K&N kit. The only bad part is that I have to adapt it to my MAF sensor or go to a tuner shop and have it erased from the ECU. If I don't, I'll never have this car idling right. To fix the vacuum leak entirely, I need to remove the intake manifold, and if I'm going to do that, I might as well do new valve covers. The ones from the factory are plastic and they warp over time. If anyone knows of a good source for aluminum covers for a 3vze, let me know, that's pretty much all that's stopping me from proceeding. I'm looking for aluminum, and if possible monogrammed with the Toyota logo. I'd pay $75-$150 per cover if they're quality.

Family and I are going to begin the moving process soon. We signed the lease on our new house just yesterday.

I'm taking the garage and making it into a small studio/lounge. I'll begin the recording process on something that'll probably be mostly solo. I'm shooting names through my head currently. A few are sticking and I'll pick from there. It'll probably be a compilation of all the various little things I've written in my 6 years of playing along with some $@!& my friends and I do/did.

I found a little 70s Guild Madeira acoustic for $10 a couple weeks back too. I think I'll work on fixing that up too. Nice bright little guitar. Needs a setup bad, but the truss rod is good.

Hey, James. It's great to hear that life is on the upswing for you. Keep it up, keep rollin', and enjoy.

Nice that you found that Guild. You'll have to post some of those tunes when you're ready. :D

Sounds pretty cool. 8) Sweet deal on that Guild, by the way. Those are some of my favorite instruments. I've had GAS for a B302 bass (or even a B301) for years. By the way, did you keep the Peavey Deuce amp? I noticed you don't have it listed with your gear on your sig.

Once I'm more settled into my house and we have the Subaru back, I think I'm going to daily that and tear the top end apart and do the hoses and valve covers.

I'll be able to tackle it on mondays most likely

In the next few weeks, I think I'm going to re-hose the inter engine, do the valve cover gaskets, install a cold air kit, and paint the manifold/throttle body casing black.

I'm estimating about 8 hours of work. I'm going to start it on my first day off after the Subaru is back up and running so I can still have a car to run out and get parts/go to work with. Once the Subaru is fixed, I'll probably drive that or the Saturn daily and keep the 4runner for weekends/sparing use.

I have a few ways to come up with extra money for it, so I'm not worried. I'll only need to buy like 20 feet of each kinda hose, throttle body gasket, and valve cover gaskets. The cold air kit will only be like $60 as Well.

My front 2 tires are developing ribs, luckily I bought insurance on the tires, so I'll get them replaced for like $30 each.

The Subaru has been a problem. I think they're finally giving me the parts this weekend. It only needs bearings, but it's been forever since it's been on the road. I just want it back, its a good car, and I had just put a fresh set of Michelin Symmetrys on it before all this $@!& went wrong.

It figures that you'd have a problem with one car when you're trying to fix up the other one. Murphy's Law, or something like that, I suppose.
