I honestly cannot believe that the show has been running as long as it has, and there are so many episodes that I would really like to see, but they either don't air them on PBS anymore, or they haven't released them on DVD yet. So, favorite episodes, anybody? Mine have got to include both of Stevie Ray's and of John Mayer's.

I've seen some videos of Muse playing ACL, and it looked like a great show with a lot of energy.

I agree that it's a great show. I recall seeing Junior Brown and Danny Gatton on there and both of them amazed me.

I have the Roy Orbison live at Austin City Limits on DVD and its great. They still show them on the local pbs . I saw a rerun of Michael Nesmith and Emmylou Harris a few weeks ago that must have been from 15 years ago or so.

BB King also has a couple good gigs on ACL

I don't watch ACL much anymore. It's on too late in this market (I'm getting old) and I don't really like many of the acts they book (I'm getting old).

They sell CDs and DVDs on the PBS website, but the only one I found that anyone has mentioned was Eric Johnson. No SRV, no BB . . .

I saw a recent one that was a tribute to Jimmy Reed with Jimmy Vaughan, Omar Dykes, Kim Wilson, James Cotton and others. That was a good one. But I agree with stratmansteve, I don't care for alot of the new artists they have on anymore! But the one with John Mayer, when he played with Tommy Shannon and Chris Layton (Double Trouble) blew me away!!!

Don't drool but I've been recording ACL since VHS recorders were cheap enough for home use. I have now converted all the shows you guys mentioned to DVD (pls no private emails for copies). Now with a DVR, I just convert them straight to DVD.

But, ACL has started releasing some show on DVD, not just the 30min segment but the entire set the bands play. Most all bands play for at least 60min and it's edited for TV broadcast.

I just got Albert Collins on ACL, it's a great show http://www.amazon.com/Live-Austin-Texas-Ac3-Dol/dp/B0013UL4D8/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1215187203&sr=8-3. I have the original 30min broadcast, but this has his entire show.

It looks great in HD and the audio mix is great as well.

Was this the show that featured SRV playing "Riviera Paradise"? If so, I remember clearly the moment I heard that track for the first time. I was taking a shower, the "First Lady" says I think you may want to see this, but before she said that, I could faintly hear it and I'm thinking, that's some nice phrasing. I get out of the Shower standing there dripping wet with my Jaw on the floor. Never knew SRV had those type of chops. We still laugh about how I "air dried" that night. THAT'S when I came to know "Lenny". And it's still my favorite SRV track.
