Hey y'all! I'm in Austin for SXSW and since one of our gigs was cancelled this morning, I spent the afternoon messing with my mandolin. We're playing a gig tomorrow morning here in Austin before we head out to Dallas for a show tomorrow night. Plus we have a gig tonight! Keeping busy.

Anyway, here's a little 400 year old Scottish song on my Fender mandolin. :D

Should have some more videos coming up soon...

Very nice - I enjoyed that :)
The recording is very good...what did you use for the audio and video?

Thanks! Believe it or not, I just used my phone. I have an iPhone 6s and I just turned it on it's side and filmed.

Here's another one we did:

Amazing and awesome...I love the lovely sound of a mandolin.

I wish I had known you were going to be in Dallas this weekend--even though I avoid going to that end of the Metroplex (just kidding...maybe), I'd have done it to see your band and meet you in person...unfortunately, I'm out of the area this weekend.

I'll try to remember to let you know earlier when we play here in the future. We play here (DFW) very rarely. The last time was about six years ago, although I played at the guitar convention once a couple of years back. We just never had any contacts/fan base up here. But now that's changed, and we were invited back to play this summer! No dates for sure yet, but we were playing earlier tonight at the Kessler Theater in Oak Cliff and that's probably where we'll end up again if we get to come back. :)

Tomorrow morning we meet some German filmmakers/music enthusiasts back in Austin and I have to be a gig in Humble tomorrow evening. Then school again on Monday morning. I'll take a nap at some point...

The Kessler is an awesome room!

Please PM me the next time you're headed up here...the Armadillo Teen wants to hear you play, too!
