The man known as the “Fifth Beatle,” producer and arranger George Martin, has died at the age of 90.
Well he had a good run, If he did not take a chance on a band nobody wanted, music may have been different. Martin signed the Beatles to their first record deal in 1962, and worked with them from their first single “Love Me Do” until their final album, Abbey Road.
He was good at what he did.
RIP Sir George Martin

Sir George Martin is a legend in music production and was a fine musician in his own right. It is truly astounding to consider what he achieved using 4 track recorders when listening to Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
An innovator.
R.I.P. Sir George and many, many thanks for the music.....

90 is a good run. Good time to celebrate by playing some Beatles.

Sir George was indeed a genius who took on the Beatles when nobody else would. He not only produced Sgt. Pepper's and Abbey Road, he also played piano on those, and other tracks.

Martin later helped to design and/or set up some of the finest and lesser recording studios. George, a legend in his own right, partnered with legendary Rupert Neve in the building of one of if not the best audio console ever made (http://www.airstudios.com/the-studios/s ... e-history/). He was multi-talented, and will be missed.

Rest in peace, SGM

It is impossible to overstate his influence on The Beatles, and subsequently on pop culture as we know it.

Certainly his contributions to popular music are unequaled.

I hope he passed on everything he learned to Giles.

RIP Sir George

George Martin was a great producer. We are so LUCKY that all the great music the Beatles made was produced by someone who was so good at putting the music to tape. Putting all the Beatles' great songwriting and talent aside, the Beatles -- in my opinion -- had the best sounding records compared against any of their contemporaries.
