Yah, like I say, I find all amps are at least a little bit beamy. There is always some spot, usually directly in front of the amp and a certain distance away where the sound becomes concentrated. Open backs should have a little more dispersal because of sound energy being diffused out the back but the energy coming out the front can still be tightly focussed. My amp is now angled up and pointing in my face when I'm standing about 5 feet from it. Since all amps exhibit at least some beaminess mine now beams at me directly when I am in my music room. I may yet install the BeamBlocker. I'm going to live with what I have for a while and see how I feel after spending some time with it. The thing that gives me cause to move slowly is that a certain amount of beaminess is a good thing. It's the reason why people use stands or tilt-back legs on stage. They can use the beaminess to hear their own amps over the rest of the band without messing with the overall mix heard by the house.

The cup-holder is the RoadKing beside it. Plenty of room on top of that behemoth.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Roadking, now there is an amp and a half.
Very interested in that progressive linkage business.
After plugging that Mark into my 4x12 this afternoon (old G12-65's). I'm convinced I did just pick wrong going with a combo. Mesa want near £400 for an empty headshell. Zilla will make one for around £250. Apparently Matamp will make a headshell and a 1x12 cab for the same sort of money. Plus the combo housing.
